Meet the Author

Gerry Bartlett figures that vampires are pretty much like everyone else except for the liquid diet. Eternity or Mexican Food? Tough call. Then there's the whole problem with sunlight. Not one of her best

I had forgotten that in a previous book in this series, it took a weird turn. In this story, the weird turn is continuous. I think you can skip this one. I can "believe" in vampires and werewolves, but adding Sirens and Olympus...is just too much. Especially having Glory be an ex-Siren, then a mortal, then a vampire, and now part goddess? All that in one storyline and for one person to be takes away from the essence of the story. Will we find out in the next book that she is related to Jesus? Geez.

    Highly recommend this series.

I stumbled upon this series a few months ago and bought and read every one, one after the other. Now I'm disappointed I have to wait for the next one. Glory's got my vote...

Gerry with humor, suspense and a little steam...can't put them down

I love this series. What first drew me to this series was the titles. This is the ninth installment of Ms Bartlett's Real Vampire series. The story is like comeing home again to your best friends and family. I have been hooked on these books since I picked up the first one. What first drew me in was the title of the book. Ms Bartlett keeps each book fresh with the same characters and adding new ones to the mix. Be on the lookout for the tenth installment of the wonderful series, Real Vampires Know Size Matters, which will be out in December of 2013.

Glory St Clair follows her boyfriend and sire, Jerry, to his family home in Scotland after they had a disagreement. She doesn't know how he will react to her being there but is happy when he welcomes her with open arms. Things go very wrong when Jerry's ex-girlfriend stabs him. She doesn't remeber doing it, the only thing she remebers is talking to an old woman at the gates of the castle. When Jerry comes to, he doesn't remeber the last few centries. He dosen't remeber Glory but he is drawn to her. Glory finds out her mother is alive and behind the attack on Jerry. She doesn't think he is good enough for Glory. Glory's mother is a goodess from Olympus and she wants Glory to move there with her. They make a deal, Glory will, with an open mind, go on one date with 5 different Gods her mother will choose and she will try and fix what she did to Jerrys memory. After several really bad dates Glory decides it may be for the best to take Jerry back to Texas where he will be around people and places he knows.

I can not tell you how much I love this series. This book in particular was wonderful, I love the way Gerry writes the characters. They are like people you know in your life. Very real . None of them are perfect but they are your perfect people. Your BFF who has a shopping problem. Your friend of a friend whom you hate. Your amazing man whom has some problems but nothing you can't live with. Nobody is perfect. Which is what makes this series perfect. No Vampires don't sparkle in these books but they have some hot nights. Gerry Bartlett makes the paranormal very plausible. The title fits it. "Real Vampires" Go on dive in, you don't have to read them in order though you may want to after you get a taste.
