The most relevant textbook for today’s students. The Real World succeeds in classrooms, because it focuses on the perspective that students care about most—their own. In every chapter, the authors use activities, examples from everyday life, and popular culture to draw students into thinking sociologically and to make abstract concepts more concrete.

Ferris makes this introduction to sociology extremely easy to read and very relevant. Terms and concepts are very clear and concise while the stories associated are from today. It also has a very nice and well rounded view of gender and gender issues. I definetly have learned a lot with the help of this book. Anything that wasn't clear to me in class, was made clear through this book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
