Lynn Johnston began syndicating For Better or For Worse in 1979 and, since then, has published 30 books, most recently Family Business and Graduation: A Time for Change. She was the first woman, first Canadian, and the youngest artist ever to win the National Cartoonist Society's prestigious Reuben Award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year in 1985. In 1992, she received the Society's Best Syndicated Comic Strip Award, and in 2001, For Better of For Worse was chosen as Comic of the Year by Editor and Publisher magazine. Lynn and her husband, Rod, live in Northern Ontario, Canada.
