Overview

When the plague came, federal agent Ellie Colson fled into the Adirondacks with Dee, the daughter she barely knew. They began a new life as subsistence farmers, isolated from the fall of the world. In the six years since, a small community has arisen from the ashes. Dee is grown up. She's engaged to Quinn, a young man from across the lake.

And she's being hunted.

Strangers are spying on the farms at night. Dee's harassed by a spurned suitor. One of Quinn's dogs turns up dead. Drawing on her old skills, Ellie launches an investigation of the locals. Turns out Quinn's dad has made some bad decisions. Some enemies, too. The strangers aren't after Dee--they're after Quinn.

When he goes missing, Quinn's dad fears the worst. But Ellie has a lead. She and Dee track the kidnappers into the post-apocalyptic wilderness of New York--and into darker lands than Ellie could ever imagine.

In my opinion, not as good as the previous books. This book deviated from the others in that its focus was on the struggle between human groups instead of humans vs aliens. I prefer the books with more alien presence. Not a bad book but just a different angle than the other books.

This was a very good book and I went through it in only a few days. Not as good as the first two Breakers books, but still excellent. I recommend reading the Novella Outcome first as it kind of sets the stage for this book and introduces some of the caractors. Can't wait for the next installment in the series!

Wow!  What a fantastic read.  If you've never read the Breakers books, give them a try.  Awesome character development!  Ed has a way of writing that puts you right there.  Great author.  Can't wait for the next one! Thanks and keep writing!

After the first 3 novels this is a wonderful story to fill us in on the rest of the States and how things are doing nation wide. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I have always been a fan of the mystery that the world would resort to under these circumstances. I had not considered aliens in my concerns. They do add a whole new demention to the tale. I am a great fan of all of these novels and feel they should be read in order. The first three I bought as a set and finished them before the week ended. You will be hooked after the first few chapters of the first book. One of the things that make these novels so good is the charcter development. These are people you have grown to care about. Finding out how they are doing keeps you up late reading. Very well done!!

The Breakers series is very entertaining. It is tangibly visible and a step above the standard end-of-the-world or alien invasion genres. My only criticism is that all his characters have the capability of making snarky remarks, instead of leaving that trait to just a few. Other than that, a fine read.

If you have read the 3 book "Breakers" series already, then you will have a basic idea of the story line in "Reapers". I found the book binding and while I only read at night, I could not wait to continue the story each time I had to put the book down. A very good read, even though there was little if no mention of the original alien attack that started the whole series, "Reapers" is a well written stand alone edition. I hope that Edward Robertson continues with the series.

I read all the books in this series in order, so Reapers was the last.  ALL were very tough to put down.  This one was a little different in that the two stories never coincided like they did in the others.  There were also no aliens in this one, which was fine with me.  The parallel stories of Ellie and Lucy were both captivating.

Before reading this book, I would recommend reading the free download "OUTCOME" which is the prequel to this book. "REAPERS" picks up the story 6 years later. Have greatly enjoyed the entire series. Was cool to see a mention of "Calvin and Hobbes" in the reading. Great series.

"Mhmmm." She sat down on the floor to watch. Ace crawled around, blowing bubbles with his mouth.
