Overview

Elizabeth Lucas, the daughter of Senator Adam Lucas, is brutally murdered at the hands of a serial killer. Kenneth Davis Cobb is found standing over her dead body with a bloody knife in hand and is immediately taken into custody. The trial should be an open and shut case, but due to unknown influences it becomes anything but that. Meanwhile, German scientist Dr. Hans Richter is working on a top secret military project at a hidden Army base in Eastern New Mexico. After World War II, the top brass decided that the United States needed a new weapon for future conflicts. Bringing together some of the world's brightest scientific minds, the goal of the project initially dubbed "The Lazarus Project" is to bring fallen soldiers back to life right on the battlefield. The discoveries that Senator Lucas and Dr. Richter make both shocks them and inexplicably links them together in a high-stakes game of corruption and lies that extends to the highest levels of government.

Meet the Author

Marek Storm was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1971. He grew up as the youngest of three children by a full six years and subsequently had to develop a very active imagination. His undergraduate studies involved a healthy mix of Business, Information Systems, Communications, Psychology, and Theater. Marek graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 2000. He has often contemplated pursuing a graduate degree, but would much rather spend his time doing what he truly loves, which is writing. He currently resides in Fort Wayne with his wife, two daughters, and three cats. A male cat was added to the family a little while ago in order to help balance the testosterone/estrogen levels in the house.

    High Drama

Most definitely a Thriller. It gets stuck straight in and keeps moving. Lots of twists - cruel twists. Plenty of drama. Highly recommended and I'm eagerly looking forward to reading Part Two.

    Fast-Paced Action!

"Reason" by Marek Storm was a fast-paced, action-packed thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat! The characters were so real that I felt like I knew them. There was a raw emotional edge to the writing that left me wanting more. I can't wait to read the second book in the trilogy... curse you and bless you Marek Storm for leaving me hanging at the end of the book like that! It reminds me of the old cliffhangers on television! Overall, an excellent read!

Captured me right from the start

This was a great book; enjoyed every moment. This is the first book in a trilogy; just started part 2 can't wait to get through it and on to #3. Riveting, shocking and a great read plus it was free (as are all 3 books!).

Interesting story in need of editing.

The story line is interesting enough to get me to read all three parts. Bad grammar throughout all three books detracts from enjoyment.

    Don't waste your time

This book is just a short story to set up two more short ones. All in all the three books could have been combined into one medium story that would have gotten a two star rating. Certainly no more of this author for me.

    Avoid!

I'm all for thrillers and tension, but this was plain depressing. I was ready to ditch this book less than half way through, but stick it out until the bitter end.
With both heroes (who never meet and are in no way connected) life is just one tragedy after another with never so much as a ray of sunshine to brighten their days. Honestly, the only good thing that happened to either of these guys is that one had a lab rat that didn't really die.

Life is hard; sometimes very hard. Regardless of our trials, there are still moments of beauty even in chaos. Flowers bloom, babies smile, lakes reflect shorelines, friends give hugs, bacon tastes good, and sunsets happen every day. God is still in His heaven, even when everything around me is falling apart.

This series may take a turn for the better, I don't know. I will not be wasting any more of my time to find out.
