Worthless if you expect a lengthy Read!

The nookbook wasn't bad for 40 pages.... Someone could have done a lot more to make this a good and interesting full length novel. Don't waste your time and money!

    Good Fast Read

Wonderful story line. But ended to fast for my liking. Would have loved for a little more depth to it. Still was a nice book for a rainy day!

    Way to short

Why publish a book this short...no storyline just a bunch of fluff. After this so called book ,I would never buy one of this authors books. THE POINT OF FREE BOOKS IS TO GET YOUR READER HOOKED ON YOUR STORYLINE SO THEY HAVE TO BUY YOUR NEXT BOOK.....All I can say is what storyline, and what was the authors name again? I feel all I did was waste life....

    REBEL By Julianne MacLean
    Prequel to the Highlander Series
What got me interested in this was that it's about castles and sword fighting and based in 1700's. Alex is in the middle of a battle when he's approached by a lad and the lad takes a swipe at his thigh. He uses his sword and attacks him only to find out that it's a female.
Elizabeth wakes up in pain and knows she must get back to Argyll's camp. She does not like Scotland at all. He comes and gives her whiskey for her pain and finds out it's 10pm, she's
slept the day away when he didn't even know if she'd survive at all.
He allows her food and finds out that she's there to take revenge for her father and brother dying in the rebellion. Problem is he's looked at her and has fallen in love with her looks and her wit.
Others learn she is there and want to return her to her village as a spy. Alex won't allow that to happen, she's under his protection now and he will see her back to the only living relative she has, her uncle.
On their journey they talk a lot and find out about each others families and interests.
She now sees him as one who loves his family and wishes him no harm. He returns her and leaves til 5 months later he is back and proposes to her because she is all he ever thinks about.
Sounds like a good series and the time frame is ideal.

I enjoy short stories, but I needed more from this one.

I enjoyed the premise of this super short story, but I did need more. I enjoy short stories, but this just lacked a bit where the characters plot came into play. I would have liked to see him come back into her life and woo her, not jump to the conclusion so quickly.

Something must be wrong! I got a story of a girl traveling back in time to Dodge City. She ends up in jail and that's it. I got jipped. End of story.

    Good Read

This story was pretty good and I actually finished it in a couple of hours. It is a sweet romance story that develops on a battle field. I would recommend this story for anyone who enjoys the occasional romance.

If you are an Outlander fan, it will draw you in. Not as 'true' to the setting/time period , however.
