    Review: The Hotshots #1: Reburn

Reburn by Anne Marsh is a novella length, fast-paced, hot (Pun intended) tale about a specialist forest fire-fighter and his ex-lover that gets in the way of him doing his job. Nevermind that she's an FBI agent tracking a terrorist, she's getting in his way. Sparks fly (pun intended) in this steamy (pun intended) tale.

Sam Clayton may just get his second chance at his first love, Olivia Albert. Will love survive the raging inferno? Read and find out...

I'm ready to move right on to book #2, Hot Zone.

I compelling Second Chance at First Love short story.

I liked REBURN....and when the title was explained in firefighter's terms (from Sam to Olivia), it made such PERFECT sense! An ideal title! The read was truly enjoyable. The pacing of this short story was extraordinarily good; I could believe that Sam and Olivia who had a summertime college-age romance ten years earlier would reconnect with such emotion, compelling fire, and reach a point where they had to make a decision. After all, ten years is a lot of time to draw comparisons (what life was really like without the other, what relationships with anyone else was like), and to know what they really want. I could identify with the rekindled love for each other, the kind of love that comes perhaps once in a lifetime and a decade apart can't smother.

Sam and Olivia were each incredibly well-drawn characters. Strong. Fighty. Heroes. Facing the villain together showed what a compelling match they made. I do adore second-chance romances, and this one did not disappoint. ~Kristin

4.5 Star Review – Reburn & Hot Zone

    I recommend these books.

I enjoyed these books by Anne. These book include passion, laughs, suspense, heartache, and pain.

    REBURN (Hot Shots #1)

Sam is trying to fight a fire but has to find a woman who is hunting down a terrorist. When he finds Olivia he must get them out of the forest without the fire killing them. Olivia just wants to find her man. But what happens when the hunted becomes the hunter. Will they make it out of the woods alive? Or will the hunter or the fire get them first?

    HOT ZONE (Hot Shots #2)

Sarah must kiss the first man that walks into the camp. Of course who walks in but Dade the one man that she should not have. Sarah is running from her past. She is hiding in this camp and will move on soon. Hopefully before her past catches up with her. Dade is determined to protect Sarah from her past.

Dade believes Sarah is too young for him. She does not belong in this camp. She is not a good cook so he can't figure out what she is doing there. When Sarah's past catches up will Dade be around to save her? Will he even want to?

Both books contain strong alpha males and stubborn women. They battle through the book but in the end come together as better people. The men are both compassionate and sweet at times but are fiercely protective. You also learn a little about the firefighters that these men fight with. Very good read. Can't wait for the next book from Anne.

Sam Clayton doesn't allow anyone to mess with his area of forest

Sam Clayton doesn't allow anyone to mess with his area of forest to protect. He fights fires and is good at his job. When a terrorist uses his area to hide out in Sam is more than willing to help get him. The problem he has is an old fling is working as and FBI agent and vows to bring him in. While a fire is raging all around them they have to find a safe place to stay and to try and get the mad man. The fire isn't the only thing heating up as Sam and Olivia rekindle their old love and maybe get the chance to do it right this time.

Sam works really hard at his job and is proud of the work he does. He wants to put fires out and keep the area safe. He is protective of his other hotshot fire fighters and of people in the path of the fire.. He is very sexy and can be bossy but that is his job. Olivia isn't one to back down and she wants to get this terrorist and get the recognition she deserves. She walked away years ago from Sam but still cares for him. She isn't one to be bossed around. She is very smart and good at her job as well.

This is a short story so it was a quick read. I like the plot and the author does a good job describing the scenes. I could see the fire clearly and all that was going on. Sam and Olivia are a great pair as they still have chemistry years later. They work well together and they heat up as quickly as the fire does. I would have liked to see more of them maybe more flashbacks to were they were younger but that is just me. The story moves at a great pace and nothing is left out of place. They both have decisions to make at the end and I really hoped they both would open their eyes to really see what they could have. If you enjoy a nice hot story ( in more ways than one), action and a good plot pick this one up.

A well written quick-paced story where the author seamlessly introduced the backstory on Sam and Olivia. I enjoyed the Hotshot firefighter angle and the fact that Olivia was a strong successful woman who could meet him step by step. The romance was warm and heartfelt without taking away from the action. An enjoyable read.
