Editorial Reviews

Contains the text of the invited talks delivered at the August 1994 conference. The conference was dedicated to the occasion of Ludwig Boltzmann's 150th birthday, and a special section of the proceedings is devoted to Boltzmann's life, modern applications of Boltzmann's theory, and cycles of transition processes as a basic idea of Boltzmann's. Several contributors provide broad overviews of particular areas: the theory of "quantum fluids"; the electron correlation in molecules; an historic overview of nuclear physics; developments in the area of lattice Hamiltonians; a personal account of complex physics; and recent developments in the understanding of high temperature superconductivity. The remaining invited papers are focused more narrowly on recent research results. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (
