At a young age, I knew I wanted to share my stories with the world. It wasn't until I picked up my first romance novel that I knew how those stories would take shape. I love spinning contemporary tales of knee-bending first kisses, unconditional love and super-hot sex scenes. When I'm not lost in my own world of romance you'll most likely find me sipping Starbucks, baking cupcakes or feeding my celebrity gossip addiction. I'm a publicist with Entangled, but Gina Gordon is not my client. I'm writing this disclaimer because her book is published by Entangled.

I've been a pretty active book reviewer for years, but I wanted to make all the above clear before you read my review. Many might say my opinion is swayed because of my affiliation, but I'll leave that up to you to judge.

During my latest binge into contemporary romance, I purchased Recipe for Satisfaction. It was the first book of three (I bought this book, Game for Marriage, and Vanilla on Top). Actually, these books are all the January releases from Entangled's Brazen line. If you follow me on twitter, you know I'm obsessed with these books. The covers are killer and the stories teeter the line between erotica and adult romance. Ugh...I love them.

Recipe for Satisfaction is a contemporary romance with meat. Beyond the steamy romance, Sterling Andrews is dealing with some major family drama. Having known a person who had parents like hers, I could relate to her emotions. It's a tough position to be in as a child and I thought she handled it well. This chick is tough and I absolutely fell in love with her. Unlike many of the weak female characters in contemporary romance, this girl holds her own.

Now that I got that out of the way, I can discuss my favorite part of this book: Jack Vaughn! This guy is yummy and a half. First of all, a guy who can cook wins major points with me. Also, the love scenes in this book are like whoa-baby hot. Everything from the positions to the locations. Seriously, where can I pick-up my own Jack Vaughn? He also has a few smexy brothers that make my insides vibrate when I imagine the next books in the series! So, yeah, I'm a fan. ;-p

Bottom line: Read this book. It's $2.99 for freaks-sake. It's so worth it!

Oh. My. God.  Can you fall in love with a book?  I hope so, because I am so very in love with this new series by Gina Gordon.  The Madewood Brothers have captured me - mind, body and soul.  No, seriously, four foster brothers who all COOK for a living, are filthy rich but self made, slightly broken but temptingly repairable.  I am a reader who adores series - siblings, coworkers, clan members, whatever - the connection of each to one another and the promise of an HEA for every one makes me giddy.

Recipe for Satisfaction tells the tale of the youngest of the four foster children of Vivian Madewood - the tattooed, very jaded man who embodies the idea of still waters running deep.  He alone is left in the family mansion to pack up his deceased mother's belongings.  Sterling Andrews has organized her life to within an inch in an effort to control the chaos of her upbringing  After a farcical meeting on a publicity cruise, Jack strikes a bargain with Sterling - she'll help him pack and he'll help her have fun.  Why do I never get offered these propositions?

Gina Gordon creates a delightful concoction of chick lit and erotic romance.  Her dialogue is flip and funny, story lines well crafted and the writing above par.  It was really very difficult to find any negatives.  The secondary characters help to develop the future potential story arcs and add depth to the characters wringing some delicious angsty emotions out of the reader.  I am not sure why I haven't encountered this author before but I will definitely be adding her to my auto-buy list and scarfing up her back list as well.  The manner in which her story unfolds and the pace that it maintains is like the perfect restaurant meal - well balanced, full of exciting flavors and with the right amounts of sweets and savories.  The sexy bits have enough romance to be sensual and spice to be erotic with variety and locations galore.

Did I mention there are three additional brothers?  I guess that means I will wait, impatiently, for further installments into my new personal dreamland of sexy chefs and the women who love them.  You must absolutely grab a copy and indulge yourself today! (links provided for immediate and easy gratification!)

I give Recipe for Satisfaction FIVE delish chocolate dipped strawberries and a moonlight stroll on a Miami beach! This novel has achieved our Ultimate Indulgence Book Award!  This review was originally written for Guilty Indulgence Book Club.

    Very good till the end

This was a 4-star book until the end. How could this author screw up an enjoyable and steamy story with such a cheesy (the you-wanna-puke type of cheesy) ending? I like happy endings but they have to be believable. I feel cheated, honestly.

Recipe For Satisfaction had me in its grips as soon as I heard J

Recipe For Satisfaction had me in its grips as soon as I heard Jack Vaughn, tattoos, and a tongue ring. Yes ladies (and gents!) a sexy tongue ring! Oh no, but that's not all... our lead boy cooks too! I absolutely love a book that pulls me right in from the beginning with a lead character who's strong but looking for something, a sexy dream man, and yet a background story that perfectly weaves them together. Recipe For Satisfaction definitely fulfills all of those.

Brazen books are always books that I can never put down until I finish because you instantly fall in love with the chemistry between the characters. I just live for those instant connections when you can sense the sexy sizzle right from the start. When you see two characters where love just slowly creeps up on them without either of them realize it's happening. That is Jack and Sterling. They both have their own lives and their own troubles yet somehow in between all of that they find comfort in each other where they both thought neither of them needed. I absolutely love Jack's playfulness and the fact that he cooks and then on the other side Sterling has her head on right with her job and I give her so many props for what she deals with in her personal life.

Overall, Recipe For Satisfaction is yet another Brazen book that I could not get enough of. It's a fun, seductive, quick read with so many real life qualities. And believe me, I definitely wanted to get my own taste of Jack Vaughn's tongue ring!

    Talk about being Brazen

    Reviewed by Kim
for Read Your Writes Book Reviews

Recipe for Satisfaction definitely has what I’ve come to expect with Brazen books, HOT encounters and lots of it. This is the first book in Gina Gordon’s Madewood Brothers Series and it does a nice job of setting you up and introducing you to all the brothers. First up is youngest brother, Jack Vaughn. Jack along with Neil, Finn and Cole were all foster kids taken in by Vivian Madewood as teenagers. Unlike his older brothers who joined the family business, Jack felt the need to prove himself and branch out on his own. Consequently, his brothers are constantly giving him a hard time, thinking that what he’s doing isn’t important.

Sterling Andrews is a professional organizer. It’s her job to keep people organized although her life isn't organized at all. Sterling makes a modest salary and should be having fun and living a great life. But she’s pigeon-holed herself into being extremely sensible and not allowing herself to have fun at all.

Sterling and Jack are two people who are more than what people see and more than what they view themselves as. The two meet on board a yacht that is hosting a charity event for Cooking for the Future, the charity program created by Vivian Madewood. The attraction is instant and the two agree to a one night “help each other get back on the horse” fling. After all, Jack is known as a ladies man and Sterling has no time or desire for anything more than that. She just wants to allow herself one night of being exciting Sterling instead of boring Sterling. Unfortunately, Sterling's parents get in the way and her plans fall through.

Sterling inspires Jack and he just can’t get enough of her. He convinces her friend, Penn who works for the Madewood family to give him Sterling’s phone number. Jack then offers Sterling a job as a way to spend more time with her. Jack then convinces/challenges Sterling to step out of her comfort zone, have fun, and spend the next four weekends in his bed.

During their month together, they each see the good in each other that no one else sees. Jack shows and shares things with Sterling that no one knows. Sterling unfortunately reveals very little. As things heat up to the point of no return, Sterling’s family issues get in the way.

I immediately fell in love with Jack. No only is he a talented chef; he’s smart, caring, hot and oh my...the things he can do both in and out of the bedroom. Sterling is a heroine that I like. She’s a little tightly wound up, but it’s because of her past. I hate that she’s so hard on herself all the time. She let’s her deadbeat parents guilt trip her constantly. Jack and Sterling are really good together.

I’m looking forward to the other books in this series.

    Series: Madewood Brothers #1

"Recipes For Satisfaction" by Gina Gordon was a good read that had it all from fun, sex, seduction, frustrating, romance and then love that only this author can give. This was the first of this series: Madewood Brothers #1 which introduce you to Jack and Sterling's story. The story line was great only to keep me reading until the end even though it was somewhat predictable. All of the characters seemed very well developed and so real even the 'bad boy.'

"Recipes For Satisfaction" was a quick run read that will only leave you wanting the next series. Would I recommend? YES!

    Good read

    ## This was a pretty good read. There were parts that I liked and parts that just sucked. The writing style was great. I liked the heroine and her best friend and the chemistry was definitely there between the two leads. Also, the sex was hot. Now, what I didn't like: SPOILER ALERT: I didn't feel it was necessary to rub in the fact that the hero was such a man-slut....but he's changed because he hadn't had any affairs in 2 months? Big deal. "Jack I have a selection of girls lined up for you to choose from" the bouncer of the club said where the hero took the heroine on a date. And then another woman throws herself at him inside the club. Really? I find that extremely tacky. The hero was so arrogant it annoyed me. "I can show you things you never dreamed of" or "You can't have me" when the heroine admitted to wanting just him and not his money. And the ending felt rushed, like: OK folks, we're out of time so let's wrap this up. Anyway, good but not fantastic.

The title for this book is spot on, because between these pages Gina Gordon really has created a recipe for satisfaction.

Sterling Andrews; professional organizer, parental baby-sitter, woman in need of one wild night. With bad boy Jack Vaughn, Sterling knows she is way out of her league but gives into temptation, regardless. Unfortunately, an untimely interruption puts a quick end to the night and Sterling never expects to see Jack again afterwards.  Until he wants to hire her to organize and pack up his mother's house, who recently passed away. And despite the fact that Sterling never mixes business with pleasure, she cannot get the sexy  chef out of her head. When he makes a seductive deal with her for the next four weekends, she can't refuse and is taken on a whirlwind journey of passion and romance. But what will happen when their time is up?

I really liked this story. Right away I connected with Sterling Andrews. Wow, what a crappy home life she has come from and really surpassed to be a competent and successful business woman. She's strong, independent, and I loved her. Jack Vaughn was very much a swoon-worthy leading man. Fed up with the life-style he was living and the image the media projected about him as well as coping with the death of his foster mother, he's ready for a change.  With Sterling he has found someone that see's the real Jack Vaughn, the real challenge is getting Sterling to let go, forget all of her responsibilities, and live in the moment. But Jack quickly comes to realize that he wants more than just a moment with Sterling. Jack turns Sterling's perfectly ordered world on its ear. The chemistry between the two is undeniable and the love scenes heated up the kitchen, bedroom, limo...and a few other interesting places!

Recipe for Satisfaction was an enjoyable and engaging read  filled with relatable  characters, lively banter, spine-tingly passion and heartwarming romance. I'm looking forward to the other smexy chef brother's stories! A wonderful and quick contemporary romance to pick up!
