Meet the Author

I was born and raised in Nebraska, but spent my college years traveling the world. I fell in love with Eastern Europe, Paris, Indian Food and the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka. But I came back home to marry my high school sweetheart and now I spend my days raising our growing family. In those few spare moments I have, I am either reading or writing Young Adult Fiction, because I am obsessed with it.Five other things I'm obsessed with right now:1. My Kuerig Coffee Machine. Genius.2. 90's music. Oh man, the 90's speak right to my soul.3. Chocolate smelling body wash. Who doesn't want to walk around smelling like a bakery?4. Colored Chapstick. And if it's Dr. Pepper Flavored, that's kind of my nirvana.And.5. Spotify. It's like the mixed-tape of this generation and I have probably three hundred hours of music on there. Can't get enough.

Review from Worn Pages and Dusty Shelves

I passed by Reckless Magic twice, until I finally just went ahead and downloaded it (because, hey, it was free!). It turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. Reckless starts off a little slow and I wasn't sure I wanted to keep reading. The prologue is written in third person and I was a little worried the whole book would be like that. Thankfully it wasn't and the first chapter was set in our main characters POV, first person POV that is. Eden is one of the better heroines I've read about and I can honestly say the only thing that bothered me was her inability to come to conclusions on her own. Otherwise, I loved her dialogue and attitude. I feel this way about all the characters. They had good personalities and were likable and relatable. (Though I did want to strangle Avalon sometimes.) And can I just say how I love the names of the characters? Avalon, Karin, Lucan, Talbott, Jericho, seriously, I love them. One thing this book is good about is it continues on and never gives long, unneeded rambling passages or info dumps. It's not stagnant in any way and the pace has a nice flow. I love this so much, because I hate massive info dumps, when information is given it's given in such a way that it's not overloading. There are a few things to nitpick about. Kiran is often described as having a smirk, it was really one of the only facial expressions he was described as having. There are grammar mistakes and words/phrases that are used over in the same paragraph and a few times I had to go back and read over what I just read because it had jumped to another part. The only thing I can say I didn't like about it, was when certain important characters were talking, they might mention some- thing important and it won't be commented on until paragraphs later. Or certain facts might be mentioned several times in several different paragraphs. --This only happens maybe 4 times at the max. None of these things deteriorate the story. In the beginning, I do think it read like another popular novel, but by the times I was about 11% done I could see it had it's own little style that it was totally addictive. Yes, this book is highly addictive and I couldn't hardly stay away from my computer. Thanks to Reckless I even missed a few meals (though I admit I brought a huge bowl of ice cream and ate while I read). I'd really love to have a hardcopy of this, but it's only available in ebook format at this time. I'm anxious to begin book number two now in what is said to be a 4-part series. I seriously can't wait to see what is in the future for the star-crossed lovers.

    Could not put it down!

Very well written. It is nice to have a long, quality read for free. I finished it in less than two days since I found it hard to put down. Great for teens and adults. Can not wait for the for the next three books of this four part saga!

A little slow at first, but a great read.

Just finished the book, and although it took me over a week to read, I can't wait to start the next book in the series. I have fallen in love withe characters and I am anxious to find out what happens next.

    My own opinion:

Reckless Magic was one of the best books I have ever read! As I started reading this book, I didn't think it would be that exciting. But once I got to maybe the third or fourth chapter, I couldn't stop reading! I would totally recomend this book to all of you who like magic and a little romance. :-)

ok so I am not a pre-teen but I love YA novels. However, from the reviews it seems like it doesnt take much to please the audience for this novel. The manifested love between the star crossed teens seemed so baseless and literally developed with barely any support. I mean seriously it was like "I love him" in 2 days. At least w/ Twilight some time passed before bella was like she'd die to be with Edward. So for me the love is not supported enough for what they been through. Aside from that the other parts of the book are interesting especially the history between the Immortal species and many of the other characters are really interesting. I will keep reading even though I have yet to buy into the couple in the book.

One of the best books I've ever read! I couldn't stop reading and I loved all the characters (but I didn't get why most of the guys had long hair). But anyways it was still good and for free too!

    Fantastic!

I fell in love with this book and finished it within 24 hours and I'm sad that it's over now. The fact it's just the first book of four has made me over joyed and enthralled.

I love the way the story is written but there are a few minor problems you'll just have to over look (IE: how Kiran was carrying Eden's backpack and then stormed off, I don't recall him ever removing the bag and it made me confused for only a moment) but the character designs and events over shadow the small details.

If you are looking for a light romance that's fun to read, this is highly suggested. Its easy to follow and is well explain. :) Enjoy!

    Great

Great, addictin read. Can be dramatic, especially Eden with her crying and POV. But I enjoyed this book and I eally want to read the next one. Has romance, drama, some adventure/action. Its mainly centered around her, her twin, and "offically the love of [her] life." As quoted from the book. The romance is pretty sweet but can be a little yucky annoyingly dramatic a few times.

    Very addicting :)

    Charming series

This book is a must read. While the target audience is clearly teens, the story line did not lose me at any point. A bit of Romeo & Juliet, only this girl has guts to fight. The author has a clear vision of the world she has created. My only fault is with her editor who did not check grammar and punctuation well enough. However, I've amost finished the second book and I cannot wait to read the third! It's free, it's charming. Take a risk.

    Highly recomended

Great story line. New and refreshing. There are errors but most can be overlooked. The charachters are very well thought out and believable (in a sci-fi way). The only problem i had is Eden is too dumbed down in parts. I mean u know whats happening, every character in the book knows whats happening, why the heck doesnt she, the one it is happpening to! That would be the only change i would make.

    Great

I did love this book. However Eden did annoy the hell out of me, I recall rolling my eyes at her more than a few times. She was so naive and too hung up on Kiran.
