Overview

Everything about him warned me to stay away.

I'd seen bad boys before, but he had it all and more. The rippling muscles covered in tatts, the piercing eyes hiding dark secrets, the silky voice that could make a girl come with just a whisper . . .

He was exactly the type of guy that would get me in trouble, but when he jumped off the stage, inked skin glistening with sweat and breathed his seductive words into my ear, I couldn't resist the temptation.

It was supposed to be the best one-night stand of my life, but fate didn't let it play out that way. Things happened. I got upset. I got hasty. And worst of all, I got reckless.

After that disaster, I thought it was the last I'd see of him. But what I didn't know was that I'd started something.

Something that could shatter the very thing I had worked so hard to protect.

I should have known back then that the most seductive things in life are also the most dangerous.

I fell really behind on reviews and I'm blaming that on the Outlander series. This book, however, was extremely engaging. Frustrating, but engaging. I found Jax to be this dark, sensual type of hero. And Riley was the exact opposite of him. It's basically a good girl meets bad guy story, with a twist that both play games with one another. Here's what I wish for this story, though, and the reason I marked it down: I wish there would have been a bit more development that showed the relationship building outside of s.e.x. Those scenes are hot, don't get me wrong, but I found their feelings didn't match what they were showing on the pages. The beginning of the book really kicks off with a bang and moves quickly, but unfortunately that slows down. There's a lot going on with these two and their history, and it's important in how the two develop. It's definitely a book to read, especially if your want to gear your taste more toward erotica.

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Jan and her co-worker Riley lived in Manhattan. One night they decided to go to the Wallabee Pub. The Cocks did an impromptu show. Riley felt as if the lead singer were a siren. After the show, the lead singer went to Riley and told her to meet him backstage. She nicknamed the rock star "Stud". The next day Riley received a text that she was going on the road with a bad as their tour accountant. Her job was to get the band to cuts their costs as they were spending too much. Jax was the lead singer from Saturday night. He nicknamed her "Pepper". Jax is a troubled man that has tried to keep his past hidden. he's not a bad person but he's very moody. He's used to the rock star life, but "Pepper" is somehow different. Riley tried to really focus on her work and tried to fight her attraction to "Stud' She was a work-driven woman and there was a promise of a large bonus if she succeeded in this job. She grew close to the entire band, including Jax. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next one. I liked the twists and turns. It's not just a romance full of fluff. I recommend this to anyone that likes romances but likes a bit more to the storyline.

Riley Hewitt is the accountant sent to help the band budget their money more efficiently. Riley is hoping to make her career with this job however everything spins off course when she realizes the singer she almost hooked up with the night before is Jax Trenton the lead singer for this band. She meets back up with Jax as he is trying to escape a pissed off boyfriend of a lady he hooked up with the night before. Riley helps him by spraying pepper spray at the guy which earns her the nickname Pepper. Once on the road the sexual tension gets thick as Riley refuses to give in and chance her job for what she thinks will be one reckless night with Jax. As they travel they both make some discoveries but the most important one is that just one night would never be enough for either of them. Loved this story had me laughing out loud at parts. I would recommend this to any book lover.

Reckless is filled with humor, sensitivity, and steamy erotic romance. The characters are well written and definately draw you into their story. Jax is bad boy rock star and Riley is the redhead who caught his eye at a show. Their story is definately not boring. They have amazing chemistry and their banter is hillerious. They seem to be constantly trying to out do one another but it is not cheesy it is funny. When one of them shows vulnerability their relationship grows toward something genuine. The intensity of their passion is dynamic and works on so many levels. Jax has some serious baggage from his childhood and Riley has emotional drama from a previous relationship. The book is wonderful and entertaining and I could not put it down until I had finished it.

I liked Riley Hewitt right off the bat. When we first meet her, she's at a bar with one of her friends getting ready to listen to a band. It's crowded and she's determined to get closer so she can actually see the performance. As anyone who's been to a concert can tell you, this can get a bit crazy. Riley has an especially difficult time because every female in the room is in lust with the lead singer, Jax Trenton. She eventually makes it toward the front and sparks fly as soon as they make eye contact. Their first meeting is a little tumultuous, and I couldn't help but applaud Riley for having the fortitude to walk away from him the way she does. I enjoyed the chemistry between Jax and Riley so much. Riley ended up becoming the band's accountant which meant the two would have to spend a lot of time together. They needled and teased each other incessantly, but it was clear to the reader that they were developing some intense feelings. I shared Riley's reservations about him though, because rock stars are notorious for sleeping around and I can't imagine trying to be in a relationship with one. Riley's refusal to give into Jax's advances creates a delicious sexual tension and makes for some really great scenes. Just wait until you read about their hot tub escapades; it made me feel like I needed to take a long, cold shower. It's obvious pretty early on that both Jax and Riley have some skeletons in their closets. These secrets are revealed in time and my heart hurt for both of them. I really felt for Riley, though, because I was in a situation just like she was. It was terrible, being manipulated like that all the time, but I couldn't seem to find my way out. It actually gave me shivers since it was so close to my own experience. Jax's story made me shed a few tears, which I wasn't expecting to happen. It all gives more depth to this story of two people trying to forge a relationship under already difficult circumstances. I feel I should warn you, Reckless ends on a cliffhanger. I turned the last page and my mouth dropped open. Oh no, it couldn't end like that! It can, and it did. I immediately went to the internet to find out what in the world I was supposed to do with my life next. Turns out the sequel to this novel is already out; Fearless was released late last year. Hooray, we don't have to sit around and wait to find out what happens! If you couldn't already guess, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were fascinating and complex, and the sparks between Riley and Jax were palpable. I am beyond excited to read Fearless to find out what happens next.
