Catherine has spent her life being the perfect princess. She’s kept her hands clean, her head down, and most importantly—men at arm’s length. After all, most men are after only one thing, and for Cathy there’s a lot more at stake than her bed; she has to worry about the fate of an entire nation. But at the rate she’s going, Cathy is afraid she’ll give the Virgin Queen a run for her money. She is tired of waiting for someone good enough to come along. She has a plan, and it all hinges on seducing the one man who seems utterly unimpressed by all things royal. The one man she is tempted by more than any other . . .

When David arrives at the royal wedding of his friend, the newly ordained Duchess Samantha Rousseau, he expects to feel uncomfortable and out of his element, but he isn’t prepared to be targeted by Prince Alex’s gorgeous younger sister. With Cathy’s giant blue eyes, killer figure, and sense of humor, it won’t take long before he gives in. But when he finds out just how innocent the crown princess really is, will he play the part of knight in shining armor or the dashing rogue?

Princess Catherine knows how to handle the people of her country. She takes great pride in being a woman they can look up to. But she also likes to be just 'Cathy'. The girl who likes to lay around, read books or be silly with her family and new sister in law. And finding a guy that respects both her roles in life is anything but easy. They either want one or the other. But when David walks in to her life, her world becomes a bit more interesting. And it is about time. ** There was something special about the way his eyes met mine, the way his hands felt on my skin. It hit me like a ton of bricks when I realized that it was because he saw me, the woman, not the princess. I never thought that would happen, and the feeling was intoxicating. ** I loved seeing Cathy grow from her calm and demure Princess role to one that starts to embrace life and live a little. And it's all thanks to David. He really did come in and shake her world up a bit. They may come off as complete opposites to those around them...but truthfully, that is exactly what each other needed. To be fair they are alike in all the ways that matter: kind, honest, loving, and giving. And I do think it is funny that she set out to seduce him. But who's to say he won't be doing the same to her. David is character that is absolutely charming and I found him so irresistible. Definite Book Boyfriend material here. Now let's not forget about Alex and Sam. Things are going good for them and it was nice getting to see them at the beginning and watch them enjoy their wedding. But the best part, aside from Cathy and David of course, is Max's part in the story. I am digging that guy way too much. And honestly, he didn't have a huge role in this story, but it was enough it has me looking forward to his book, RELUCTANTLY ROYAL. I have a feeling he is going to keep us on our toes in that one. Such a wonderful and fetching (sounds royal'ish right?) read, I inhaled it quickly. If you read SUDDENLY ROYAL don't expect the same story. Because it is not. Cathy has her own life and own story to tell. There is romance and there is heartache but there is also humor and fun. You get a bit of everything is this sexy and entertaining read. Yes, Chase did an amazing job giving us something different, so you don't feel as if you are reading the same story over and over again. I recommend it and I insist you read it. Like now. 5 Royal Stars!

Recklessly Royal was a great follow-up to Suddenly Royal and a nice continuation of the Suddenly series. The vibe in this story is a bit different than in the first, but I enjoyed it almost as much. Sam and Prince Yummy are a hard act to follow, but Cathy and David did a pretty good job.  Where, in Suddenly Royal, Sam struggled with the news that she was a duchess, in this book, Cathy is struggling with her title, but for completely different reasons. Cathy has always been the good girl. The prim and proper one. She doesn't want to be used for her title, like her brother Alex was, so she's rather inexperienced with men. She doesn't want to be manipulated or hurt, but she doesn't want to die a virgin either. When Sam's friend David comes to town, she decides it's time to chase after a man she's certain won't use her for her title.  I really liked both Cathy and David, but I didn't connect with them quite like I did Sam and Alex. I did love the role reversal of royal woman/regular guy though. I also loved how Cathy put it all on the line to chase him. It was out of character, but somehow it seemed right. They shared some great scenes as they got to know each other, always conscious of the paparazzi surrounding them. The romance and heat between them came from a nice, slow burn and the wait was definitely worth it. While Recklessly Royal might not have been *quite* as sweet and romantic to me as Suddenly Royal was, it still had plenty of swoony and sexy times. It was quite an enjoyable read.  I listened to Recklessly Royal in audiobook format, just as I did Suddenly Royal. The narrator was the same, but I feel like she struggled a little with the Cathy's accent in this book. It didn't really take away from the story, but I had to adjust a bit before I became comfortable with it. Still another solid audiobook performance by Caitlin Davies.  I'm sad that there's only one more book left in the Suddenly series. In the short time since I started listening to it, I've become a big fan. Nichole Chase is definitely on my radar now (better late than never, right?) and I'm looking forward to see what she releases next! I know her first Accidental Assassin book comes out soon. It's high on my TBR.

Great addition. Loved getting to know the Royals better. Cathy's character was not as frivolous as she seemed in the first book. I loved David and how he deals with everything around him. A great addition.

Recklessly Royal is a feel good, adorably cute romance. From start to finish, you just fall in love with Chase's characters.  Now it is princess Catherine's turn to have her heart strings plucked as she collides with Samantha Rousseau's fellow bird studying friend David.  David came to support Samantha and her new life but when he meets the Princess Catherine something takes hold of his heart as well. A feel good, must read Recklessly Royal will provide hours of fun, entertaining and heart touching moments to enjoy.

Loved it! It was a charming sequel to the first book. I am excited to read the final book of the series. This series is cute, charming, and lovable. The characters are easy to love and their stories will draw you in very quickly. The books are short, and while there is no substantial character/story development, it doesn't really matter. This is the type of series you can read at the end of the work day or on the beach so you can relax and smile throughout the whole thing. I definitely recommend for anyone who needs a cheesy love story to read!

Read the first book and enjoyed it enough to buy the 2nd in the series. A delight when those of us who are the ordinary find happiness whether or not you might be Royal--or just a really great person.

The first on was better but this is still a really good book. Well written prose with interesting characters and real-life situations. I can't wait for the next one!

Fantastic read. Much better than the first, which I also enjoyed. I am excited for the next book, but I hope to see more of Cathy in the future.

Sweet story of Princess Catherine... I couldn't wait for this one to come out after I read Suddenly Royal but this one just didn't have the charm that its predecessor had. Nichole Chase's writing is great but I was quite bored with the storyline. It's a sweet, short read, there weren't any real twists and turns but it's a feel good romance that's predictable and ordinary. If I'm being honest, Catherine was more intresting in the first book, and it's as if she couldn't carry this book on her own. Add that to the fact that there really wasn't that much conflict in the plot and the book was just okay. I will say that the two characters are certainly likeable and they did have some chemistry. I also loved seeing Alex and Sam again although there wasn't much of them in the book. Overall, a nice, short read and it's not that expensive.

I absolutely loved this book. In the land of paying for partial books, it was refreshing to get a whole book and one very well written. I enjoyed the ups and downs and would gladly read more from this author.
