This book by Gen. Robert E. Lee's son is a reflection on the character and qualities of the life of Lee. It is not a book regarding his campaigns, but instead a reflection on the man, what guided his principles and his love of family. It is excellent reading and well laid out. I at first thought it was kind of dull, because of the letters to his family, but the more I read I have a much better understanding of General Robert E. Lee and see him in a totally different light. This is a must read book.

This book was written by Robert E. Lee's son. It is composed of many of Robert E. Lee's letters throughout his years. I learned so much about the man that was Robert E. Lee. Through this book I think I can say, I would have enjoyed his company.
