Overview

Two hundred years after the events of "Saving Concord," humanity is set to begin its expansion into another galaxy when fringe elements conduct a terrorist attack to derail the initiative. But not every threat comes from outside the Imperium....

The Imperator's vaunted Immortals, veterans who have given their lives in his service and been reborn to fight again, have become victims of a virus inserted into their hardware. No one knows how the virus will affect them, or if it can be removed. Some feel their continued existence is too great a risk. If unleashed, they could tear the galaxy apart.

Will the finest soldiers in the Imperium be destroyed by the apparatus that created them, or can they prove their worth and find reconciliation?

*Note: This is a short story - approximately forty pages if printed.*

Great read. I thought the story was engaging and had meaning beyond just the plot. This had a good ending and left a nice opening for a sequel. Look forward to the other books!

As a fun adventure read, this story teases the reader with interesting world-building that makes me think of a Dune/Star Wars hybrid. There's action and some intrigue... hopefully there will be some follow-ups. Also, like the one-star reviewer pointed out, this is a short story. But, if he'd taken the time to read the description, the length of the story was made pretty clear.
