Overview

A celebration of the nuttiness and obsessives in all of us, RecordSetter is the new world record– setting phenomenon, a website that believes everyone can be the world’s best at something—and where 80,000 people a month come to prove it, or just enjoy watching. Corey Henderson and Dan Rollman, the creators of RecordSetter, are two entrepreneurs obsessed by world records who appear regularly on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and host events in cities around the country. The RecordSetter Book of World Records captures all the exuberance, energy, and quirky good humor of the records and record-setters. Here are more than 300 of the longest, loudest, slowest, weirdest, coolest, and most-difficult-to-break world records. There are Food & Drink Records. Sports & Games Records. Records set by (not-so) average Joes, and records set by celebrities (Most Bunnies Snuggled in a Hammock by Cameron Diaz).

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Justina Engebretson
Some people love to know who has climbed the tallest mountain or built the highest building. Others want to know who holds the record for being the oldest person alive or for holding the longest kiss. The real record setting questions to ask though are who has made the fastest turkey sandwich or who has sent and received the most text messages in one month. To find the answers to these record setting questions and hundreds more like them, one need look no farther than this young adult reader. Packed full of crazy, amazing records set by regular people, children and adults will find this book an excellent source of entertainment. Perhaps, they will even find a little inspiration of their own. For every record listed in this book, a record that still needs to be set is proposed leaving readers with plenty of options if they are interested in setting their own record. For example, one may want to see how many people can sit on Santa's lap at one time. Overall this book is fun, outrageous, and full of laughs. Reviewer: Justina Engebretson

    Awesome Gift

If you are looking for a good gift for a teenager or student, I highly recommend this book. Really, this book is a good gift for any competitive person you know. There are tons of crazy, funny, and interesting records. Much for lively and approachable than the Guinness Book.

Great Coffee Table Book and Conversation Starter

This is the type of book you always want to keep out and displayed around your place, because whenever someone sees it they'll ask you about it and start looking through it...laughing, wow-ing, etc. Great conversation starter. It's a lot of fun to look through with a friend, and great for little kids.

There are also so many little lines, jokes, and quirkiness to it, it's the type of book you can look through forever and ever and always find something new.

    Highly recommend!
