Children's Literature - Allison Fetters
Hal Jordan and two of his Green Lantern companions are called to investigate an incident that has occurred on the Red Planet. Unfortunately, when Hal and company arrive, they realize they have walked into a trap and that they must attempt to escape unscathed. As the Red Lanterns' leader, Atrocitus, is fed by anger and rage, Hal knows he must remain calm and collected while attempting to fight the villain and restore the universe to a relative state of balance. Through his actions, Hal demonstrates that more can be accomplished by being calm than by falling victim to wrathfulness. The glossary is succinct and informative as it provides clear definitions for new words presented in the text. The illustrations throughout are artistically displayed contributing to the overall artistic and entertaining quality of the text. The supplemental information, such as the discussion questions, writing prompts, and on-line suggestions, provide the reader with additional resources to explore the world of the Green Lanterns in greater detail. "DC Super Heroes Green Lantern" series. Reviewer: Allison Fetters
