The Threat of War Never Stops!!

Though written a decade ago, the threat of war on the Korean Peninsula is as strong now as it was then. This work of fiction is a primer as to just how terrifying the next Korean War would be for all involved. Great understanding of all combat arms of the US Army.

    a reviewer

Red Phoenix by Larry Bond is an amazing techno-thriller filled with action and excitement. When North Korean forces pour across the DMZ into Southge Korea, the United States is caught in the middle of yet another war in southeast Asia. From the pilot's seat, to the grunt's foxhole, to the submarines periscope or the frigate's bridge, you'll feel like you're in the midst of combat.

    Great Read

This is a well written, exciting book! Even though it was written in 1989, it's as if it was written today with what is going on in North Korea.

    Good read

A good read. The war technology used to create the story in this book is a little dated since it was published in 1990 but its easy to overlook due to the action the author never lets go of for a second. Readers of Clancy's 'Red Storm Rising' will enjoy this novel.

Sounds good--my nook is not working

I cannot read this and review it because my nook Tablet is not working--therefore, I am not reviewing any others I may have read. This is outrageous--no suggestions work and I don't know when I might get to a B&N and hopefully get it Fixed!

    Historical fiction or Headlines?

Although this story is set thirty years in the past, the players, politics, and international tensions could be ripped from todays headlines.
North Korea! South Korea! China! Russia! US!
    We are all still there.
    Very current!

    Very good war story

I enjoyed reading this book, and would gladly read more like it. You get to see all sides of the build-up, execution, conclusion, and after-effects of an all-out land , sea, and air war in Korea. Interesting characters, although there are almost too many to keep track of! I was glad that it did not include any (phony) patriotic speeches and just stuck to the events and their effect on the various parties involved. Very Good!

    Anna

She grins. "If you say so." She puts the guitar down and than turns off the lights and opens the window. "Good-night." She smiles and lays down, watching the stars, for they help her sleep. Soon, as moonlight spills over her, turning her blonde hair silver, she falls asleep.
