Every fantasy has a price. Vivian Xu knows this all too well, having catered to the criminal underworld of the Czech Republic in ways no one can imagine. Now she finds herself at the mercy of a homicide detective who would sacrifice anyone to stop a deranged serial killer. Dangling by a thread to her freedom, Vivian becomes an unwilling informant in a game of hunt-or-be-hunted. Soon she discovers the shocking truth behind the murders, but she doesn't escape with her own mind unscathed. Vivian will pay any price to see society again, even at the cost of becoming just like the killer.

Meet the Author

Born in 1990, Nathan Wilson's love affair with writing began at the age of seven when he read The Nightingale, a short story by his sister, Rachel. Eight years and approximately 32 manuscripts later, he began to brainstorm the plot for his debut novel, The Undying God. In 2010, Nathan was hired onto Lansing Community College's newspaper, The Lookout, as a staff writer, and he eventually became the editor in chief in 2012. During that same year, he went on to publish The Undying God. His most recent work is Red Widow, a psychological thriller and mystery novel.

I really enjoyed this book by Nathan Wilson. I think the author set a good pace for the book and the plot kept me turning the pages. I'm looking forward to reading a sequel or any of his future works.

This was a decent read for a free book.  Although there were times when I felt like it jumped from one scene to the next too quickly, or that there were details that I didn't feel were authentic to the story, I'm still glad I read it.   Plus, us LCC alumni need to support each other.

Incredibly boring. Made no sense at all. Would not recommend to anyone.
