Overview

For seven hundred years the Immortal warrior Tain was held captive and tortured by a powerful demon, retreating into madness to mitigate his pain. Set free by his brothers Tain has wandered the world, but he's drawn to Los Angeles, a city divided by demon lords and vampire masters, the death-magic creatures just kept in line by strict rules and the paranormal police.

Samantha Taylor, detective in the paranormal division, is committed to bringing down drug-selling demons and vampires who turn too many victims. She's good at her job, but her stakeout of a demon club is blown by the appearance of a man with amazing power, who kills attacking demons with one burst of magic.

Samantha realizes to her shock that the man is Tain, the Immortal she helped rescue, whose healing touch burns her at the same time it arouses her.

Tain is back, and he needs Samantha's help. Young demon women are being murdered, and though Tain has no love for demons, he recognizes that they are innocents. He's also powerfully drawn to Samantha, a half demon, and fears his pull to her means he hasn't healed from his ordeal. Tain reveals to Samantha more about herself than she's comfortable knowing, but though she's falling for Tain, she knows he'll never allow himself to be tied to demonkind again.

When the killer endangers both of them, as well as people they love, they have to solve the case together and fight the growing, powerful attraction between them, a battle they are steadily losing.

Welcome back to the world of the Immortals, where vamps, weres, demons, witches, and Immortals warriors exist in the real world, and the forces of life magic and death magic struggle for balance.

The Redeeming is a full-length novel of 100,000 words. It was first published in 2008, and was been fully revised and reedited for the 2014 re release.

    Incomplete

I loved the characters in this series. And I think this was the best yet. Unfortunately, I can't find the second and third books by the other two authors. Son, unfortunately, I can't recommend these books to anyone (like myself) who obsessively needs to read a series from the beginning.

    Frustrated!

Enjoyed this book and whole series. Recommend.

In this book Tain, now freed from an evil demon, tries to put his life together. He's drawn however to a half demon woman who helped free him.

    I Also Recommend:

    Great story and characers!

I loved this book! I've always loved anything paranormal, but never read any of these type of books. I'm hooked! The characters of Samantha and Tain are amazing. Both love each other but feel that can't let the other know because of who they each are....so different. This difference though is what makes the chemistry so hot between the two of them. The book takes you in to the world of demons, vampires, werewolves, demigods and humans who all try to coexist together. The storyline describing how each survives living with those they hate is mind boggling. How do we know these people don't really exist in our world? Maybe you live next door to a demon and don't know it?!<BR/><BR/>"The Redeeming" mixes paranormal and romance together to make a hot, interesting and intrigueing storyline that I can't wait to read more of!! I will now have to find the first four of the series to get caught up on some of the storylines, but I found you will enjoy this book without knowing about the past books.

    The wait was worth it

No one has to tell Tain the Immortal that when it comes to letting demons live he is insane he would agree as he loathes them ever since Kehksut the demon captured and tortured him for centuries. Having been freed by his four older half siblings, their soulmates, and a half-demon LAPD police detective Samantha after seven hundred years of torment, Tain wants nothing to do with anyone although he admits to himself that he is attracted to the cop.--------------- One year has past since Tain tasted freedom. Meanwhile Samantha is working undercover in Venice Beach trying to infiltrate a gang using a demon rape date drug. He helps her on that case and afterward asks her to assist him on an investigation he is making into four prostitutes who vanished. Soon they work together on a group whose vision is a paranormal free world these hunters are murdering demons and other otherworldly species. Tain vows to keep his cop safe and help her learn who is the leader of this deadly sect is but he also emotionally keeps his distance as he believes he is one banana peel away from insanity while she assumes he rejects the demon half of her heart.--------------- Although the other Immortal brothers¿ paranormal romantic suspense thrillers (see THE CALLING and THE GATHERING) are excellent, Tain¿s tale is the one fans of Jennifer Ashley have been waiting to read. The wait was worth it as he and half-demon Samantha make for a stellar show. The story line is fast-paced from the moment that Samantha working the bar senses Tain in the area and never slows down until the final confrontation. Tain puts an Immortal face to torture as he suffers an extreme case of PTSD that has left his sanity questionable at best with his extended family and Samantha his only footholds on healing his mind. THE REDEEMING is a winner.---------------- Harriet Klausner
