A duke who needs to be tamed . . . a lady who refuses to be rescued.

Adam Chamberlin was the third son of a duke, known for gambling binges and drunken nights. No one expected anything of him . . . until tragedy strikes. Now Adam is the new Duke of Rothford, determined to right the wrongs he's done. Except a secret in his past means helping the one woman who doesn't want his help at all . . .

It's not every day that a duke introduces himself to a woman sitting by herself in Hyde Park. Faith Cooper is even more surprised when Adam offers her a position as a lady's companion to his elderly aunt. Faith refuses to be beholden to a man again—certainly not this man, who both infuriates and attracts her. But with passion simmering between them, will Faith surrender to forbidden desire?

Adam never thought to be the Duke of Rothford. Now he has took on the responsibility of the family and also of finding the sister of a man he knew and helping her. Faith never wanted to ask for a man's help. She put her trust in men before and got burned. Now she takes a job with Adam taking care of his elderly aunt. They both desire each other but Faith tries hard to resist Adam. They may just find more than desire if they are willing to take a chance.

I really enjoyed this story as Faith isn't looking to rely on a man and Adam isn't afraid to do whatever to get what he wants. They both are stubborn and hard headed but a great match. Faith is a proud woman who tries her best to not be to close to Adam. Someone begins to threaten Faith about her past and Adam does everything he can to find out who is behind it. When Faith does come clean about her past I was glad to see Adam stand by her side. He really showed how great he is. This book may start off a little slow but quickly grows on you. The characters are great except maybe Adam's sister I didn't care for her. If you like historical romance I am sue you will like this one.

    OK

This book had great potential but did not live up to the expectation. Of the two main characters, Adam was likable, but Faith, not so much. With her name you thought she might put her faith in Adam, but she was very stubborn, too much so IMO.

    Not so much.

I have read and enjoyed Ms Callen's books in the distant past, but have not read her lately. It is just as well as this was really a lackluster effort! Boring, boring, boring. I kept on reading and hoping it would improve but it never did. Unfortunately, I paid for this loser; it won't happen again!

Third and last book in the series and the best of the three. Faith had problems she had to overcome and she did some things in her past to survive that a lot of women in this era had to do. I was disappointed in her mother. The Great Aunt and the sister Sophia were great sub characters. Even the friend of Adam who was mean to him but ended up being an ok person made the story interesting. I was glad the villain was who it was and that villain got what they deserved, maybe not quite what they deserved but good enough. Adam was trying very hard to overcome his past both in his actions and those of his so called brothers. He along with his other two friends from war that were trying to make amends, I liked this story the best.

    Not a bad romance.

This book was just kind of uninspired...not much detail about the era..but it was a easy quick read...I enjoyed it for that.
