Joining Silver Wave with her seventh album, Redemption Road, Eliza Gilkyson continued to offer some of the most rewarding folk-pop of the 1990s. While there was more of a noticeable cackle in her voice, the singer was still quite capable of hitting the pretty notes and maintained an enviable range. There isn't even an occasional fast-tempo rocker this time -- Gilkyson sticks to a pastoral, quiet setting, offering songs that are as reflective as they are moving.
