Shay ignored the coyote crossing their path and Redhouse's warnings. Shay did not follow indigenous teachings and guidelines for allowing a loved one to pass into the next world. Shay mourned for too long and used sacred wood to create a puppet that looks like their niece/nephew. Because Shay would not let Redhouse leave this world. Redhouse's spirit was caught in our world, trapped in the puppet Shay made. Using sacred spider web thread, which is made with the same material as the piano, he made the strings for the puppet to be attached. Spiderwoman's string allows the piano to control speech and movement for anyone attached to the sacred spider strings.
