Meet the Author

Patrick Alderton qualified as an Extra Master after serving on most ofthe major types of ships and then became a lecturer on the commercialtransport courses at the London Guildhall University in the 1970s.There he was appointed a CNAA Research Degree Examiner. He moved to theWorld Maritime University in Sweden as the Professor of Ports andShipping in the late 1980s. He has written over 100 articles andpapers on Maritime Transport.
