About the Author

Sisters Nancy Meyer and Pauline Cox were born and raised in Roy, New Mexico in the mid 1900's. Both sisters grew up in a time rich with the American history following The Great Depression.

Pauline Cox worked for many years as a Real Estate Broker in Roswell, New Mexico until her retirement in 1987. Throughout the years, she always enjoyed her extensive collection of books and the occasional opportunity to write as her time allowed. In 1945 and 1946 she contributed articles to "El Portal," Eastern New Mexico University's Literary Magazine. In 1960, Pauline wrote a song that was put to music, recorded and presented on her 83rd birthday. As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her love of children has been an inspiration in her life. When Nancy began to develop a talent for creative photography, a natural partnership began as Pauline added the words to descibe the stories of Nancy's pictures.

Nancy Meyer also made a career in the Real Estate Brokerage market. She continued in the Real Estate profession in Socorro, New Mexico until her retirement in 2007. Soon after she was inspired by the view of the world through the lens of a camera. Everything around her took on a new interest as she began by photographing birds, then moving on to remnants of America's history with old fashioned windmills, churchs and falling down shacks. Each picture held a story that was just waiting to be told. Nancy discovered a new passion and called to share her discovery with her sister, Pauline. Together, they would use Nancy's pictures and Pauline's love of writing to create colorful and light hearted stories to share with children.
