Overview

Designed to help teachers and librarians introduce students to basic reference tools in a way that is fun, these new puzzles and games provide challenging enrichment opportunities using basic library tools—dictionaries, thesauri, almanacs, encyclopedias, atlases and others. The puzzles range from easy to hard.

Crossword puzzles are used to sharpen students' skills in geography, English, history, and science. Word searches are followed by questions that are answered with words found in the puzzles. Multiple choice questions are to be answered using reference materials that are found in most school libraries or media centers. Twenty "match-up" exercises challenge the students with a list of 30 questions followed by mostly missing letter answers ("_R___E") in scrambled order.
