The Holy Land on your coffee table

I love the book. We went to the Holy Land in 2000 and have wanted to go back ever since. This book helped me remember all the wonderful things we saw and felt while we were there. Very inspiring descriptions. I learned many things that I wish I had known before I visited. If we ever get the chance to go again I will enjoy it much more having read this book.

    Superb Coffee Table Book

Reflections of God¿s Holy Land provides a full-color armchair tour of the Holy Land. This highest-quality book brings the Scriptures and the Land to life. Breathtaking professional photos by Everson, Vamosh and Doron Nissim depict the Judean Desert, Rachel¿s and David¿s tombs, Shepherd¿s Field, the Nativity Church, native flowers, waterfalls, a map, and much more. Scriptures lavishly and tastefully enhance each section.

Best-selling author Everson's "Did You Know?" pages include her inspirational insights about standing on holy ground. Vamosh¿s ¿Reflections¿ provide in-depth knowledge of and love for Israel¿s history and archeology, drawn from her years of experience as an Israeli tour educator.

The Lord made a team of these gifted women. Both love Israel. Everson is Christian, Vamosh is Jewish. Both are professional photographers, professional writers and teachers.

I cried over some of the pages, and laughed out loud as I read what actually happened when Rebekah met Isaac for the first time.

Don't look at it alone--sit down together with a child or another adult over the holidays. Every family, grandparent and church/public library needs one of these treasures.

    Reflections of God's Holy Land

Reflections of god¿s Holy Land A personal journey through Israel.

My heart started racing as soon as the package containing ¿Reflections of God¿s Holy Lnad¿ arrived in the mail. I¿ve been to Israel twice and longed to see how the experience was caught on paper. Miriam Vamosh¿s historical knowledge and Eva Marie Everson¿s thought provoking journal of her trip was refreshing. It did more than inspire me with affection for the Holy Land. It provoked me to return so that I could record my own thoughts as I toured the land.

I was a wee bit disappointed in the photography. I¿m not sure if it was the way the photos were laid out or because I was expecting photos which captured the essence of the journal entries Overall the book is a storehouse of treasures. Any one who has been to Israel and wants to keep the remembrance fresh ¿Reflections of God¿s Holy Land¿ fills the bill. For those who have not experienced the land of Israel first hand this book is unique. It will certainly capture your heart, making you ask yourself¿What would my journal entries include if I visited the land? For anyone thinking about visiting Israel I really encourage you to read this book and prepare to record your own observations through the lens of a camera and the pages of your journal.

    I Also Recommend:

    Reflections of God's Holy Land

I have the honor of reviewing a special book titled "Reflections of God's Holy Land" written by two women, Eva Marie Everson and Miriam Feingold Vamosh. Eva is a Christian and Miriam follows the Jewish religion. They both bring a unique perspective to this lovely book published by Thomas Nelson.I discovered the book to be an inspiring faith based trek up the hills and down into the deserts of the Holy Land with two incredibly, knowledgable Biblical thinkers. The depth of their faith is apparent on every page.
The book is divided into sections beginning with sacred scripture. Pictures reveal the topography, climate and geographic features of this ancient land. I appreciated the historial information found on the "Did you know?" pages and the "Reflections" pages quite insightful.Just imagine Jesus spending 40 days and nights in the desert tempted by the devil. Travel the man-made trail to the great, crumbling fortress of Masada. Marvel at the sacrifice of the early Chistians when faced down by the Romans. They literally gave up their lives for their belief in God!
Stark images of eroded hills are contrasted with hidden green meadows and palm silhouetted horizons. The photography illuminates the spiritual light of this wild land. The Reflections pages are a place to pause on this faith journey and ask ourselves how would we respond to the challenges faced by our biblical ancestors? Historical stories are masterfully interwoven with the photos.I felt the rough cobbles traveling down to the old wells and heard the tinkling waters.I marveled at the deep faith of the people of the Holy Land.I continue to seek the spiritual well to quench my thirst for God's grace much as the ladies drawing water for their loved ones did long ago. I would recommend you take this journey for yourself and buy one book for yourself and more for your loved ones. Terry Haugen

http://thomasnelson.com

    So beautiful!

I've purchased three copies of this book, and will probably buy several more for Christmas gifts. It's a touching and moving work of art for anyone who loves the Lord and honors Israel.
