Overview

Diana Worthing is the wife of an English naval hero, daughter of a naval hero--she's had quite enough of heroes, thank you. So when James Ardmore, Southern gentleman pirate hunter and thorn in the side of the British navy, abducts her from a tedious house party and spirits her off to his ship, she lets him know what she thinks of heroes.

James interrogates her about the tiny island of Haven her father owns, where Diana and her father and deaf daughter retreat to escape the world. Diana resists, knowing that Captain Ardmore is an enemy of the English. But when Ardmore pins her to the wall of his cabin and asks her to sail away with him, sparks fly, and the temptation is great. But though Diana is an unhappily married woman, she has a daughter who needs her, and she refuses.

James knows the island of Haven holds the secret to the pirate he's been hunting for years. He can't bend the beautiful Lady Worthing to his will, though James is intrigued by this woman of unquenchable fire. He lets her go, learning nothing. But he's pleased to find himself stranded on Haven the following year, Diana Worthing now a widow, and the sparks between them just as hot.

Book 2 of the Regency Pirates series. This is a full-length novel. (Please note that this book was previously released at The Pirate Hunter's Lady. No change has been made to the story.)

I think this book was as plot driven as the first but it was definately alot steamier. But that in itself is fitting to the characters... how could you not expect James to be rough, hot and heavy when he finally found a woman to tame his anger. Love this series!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was quite let down by this second installment. I liked the characters and the premise of the story, but rather than being a plot driven book with a few steamy scenes thrown in (which I have no objection to!), this book seemed to be a series of steamy scenes with a storyline thrown in as an afterthought. I did like that some characters from the previous book reappeared. It was nice to see how their story continued. This one is going to get deleted. :(

After book 1 in the Regency Pirates series, I was very much interested to read James' story. I looked forward to watching his downfall to love and to find out what kind of lady would win him. I was very pleased with his story and with his lady love, Diana. Beautiful story, great chemistry between the characters, loved the plot, and Diana was an awesome heroine. The story was light and an easy read to get into. The conflict wasn't too complicated or complex, making it a light, enjoyable read. I loved the island of Haven and getting to see where James grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. Jennifer Ashley's re-release of this story with her additions made for a great story. I look forward to Honoria's story next.

I was really looking forward to reading James's story and it was indeed a good book. It took you farther into his backround and we find out why he is the way he is. Unfortunetly it was a tad long and i didnt feel the chemistry between the main characters as much as I did in the first book of the series(which i LOVED by the way). So over all it was a good book, the first one was just better.

Normally I can read a book in a day. This has lasted me three and I am only on page 450. This story is too long. I've taken breaks to read other books just to get away from this one for a while. Plot drags way too slow. Almost 700 pages is just too much considering the story. I liked the first book in the series better. Much more action outside the bedroom so to speak. May take two more days to finish. I've already purchased the third book, so I'll have to read it too but not looking forward to it. Maybe in a few weeks.
