After Keena's fiance leaves her standing at the alter to run away with her half-sister, Keena decides she needs to get away to heal. She wants solitude in a place she's never been. From the moment she sets foot on the grounds of Luna Mountain Ranch deep in the Colorado Rockies, she is pursued by the sexiest cowboy she's ever laid eyes on. Keena thinks an affair with him will help her become a woman like her half-sister, China, one who doesn't give a damn about anyone but herself and never gets hurt. But there is something strangely different about Ryan. This ranch hand has a secret that everyone seems willing to keep from Keena. They warn her to stay away from him, but when Keena looks into Ryan's eyes, she sees the pain and loneliness she knows are reflected in her own. Denying herself the pleasure of his touch might mean the difference between saving her life and losing it forever.

Okay if you get into vampires

It started off being pretty good. But vampires and wolfs always turn me off. Of course it didnt come right and sqy it until the end, but i picked up bits and pieces here and there. But the romance between the two makes for a nice story. Overall it was okay. Im jst not into vampires, had i known one of the people in the story was one, i would not have read it at all.

    I expected more

This book was just an alright read for me. Great beginning, long middle, but not a true ending. I expected more.

    Good Read

I liked the story overall, Ryan and Keena both had baggage to deal with, but then again who doesn't. I just wish the ending wasn't so rushed. I think in another 15 pages, the ending would have been awesome.

    Disappointed

I liked the way the book started...I even liked the middle of the book...it's the ending that I had a problem with. It seemed hurried, like the author was hurrying up to do something else and she needed to hurry up and make up some kind of ending to the story. I felt robbed with the this book.

    Highly recommend

This is the first book I've read by this author but it certainly won't be the last. I couldn't put this book down! Excellent!

    more from this reviewer

Tressie Lockwood has done it again!

Not your usual star crossed lover romance. The main characters are both strong in their own way which, of course, adds to the conflict of the story. A recipe of steamy romance scenes that will melt your socks off add a dash of intrigue and a splash of suspense and you will have one good read!

    SKIP THIS ONE

I love a lot of the books by this author, but this one just made me mad. It was slow and had an ending that came out of nowhere. The ending was ridiculous, let this book pass you by.
