    Loved the book

This book is very good. It combined three of my favorite topics: historical, time-travel, and futuristic romances.

    Really Really Good!

I absolutely loved this book! Unfortunately I was not aware that this was a part of an epic story so I ended up reading this book first...You have to read Knight of a Trillion Stars first! I also loved Mine to Take! I am waiting for a story on Traed..I can simply not wait. The only thing that I could not really get into was the scene that occurred between Lilac and Rejar once he realized she did not accept him as of yet. I think there could of been a better way to handle that. However, the story was still marvelous. Many women are going to want a Familiar male after reading this! ENJOY!

    A WASTE OF MONEY!

I was reluctant to buy this book, but was swayed by the topics in it. I regret the decision to buy it very much. One of the main problems I had with it was the point of view it was written it. It was in third person, but in a way that made is seem like first person, if you understand my meaning. It would suddenly switch from one character's inner thoughts to another. It was just completely horrible the way it was written. The author made the main female character seem so childish, so much so that when Rejar thought erotic thoughts about her it seemed morally wrong and revolting. I read hardly a chapter and just couldn't finish it. The tenses were constantly switching as well.

I can't believe all of the raving reviews it's gottent, a high schooler could have written something much better! If I could have given it a zero I would have. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this, if you still want to buy it I suggest you try the sample first, or go to your local bookstore if the sample doesn't give you enough.

    Wonderful and exciting series

I found the series very exciting and filled with lots of outlandish and fanciful imagery. The plot was very whimsical. I definitely found it to be a great rainy day read helping me to escape from the dreary weather outside.

    Great the third time around!

I read this book when it first came out on the market after I read Knight of a Trillion Stars and remembered falling in love with them then. Here it is many years later, and I still found the stories and characters just as delightful as the first time! I purchased the stories in paperback which had turned yellow. So now I have them in ebook format and can definitely see myself reading all three books a couple of times more. The stories just leave a smile on my face and in my heart.

    Awesome Book

Dara's characters Rejar and Lilac were very imaginative. You can tell that Dara really put her imagination to use with Rejar. His experiences in Regency, England were very imaginative. Would recommend this book to anyone.

One of the worst books I've ever read.

The writing in this book is abysmal and the characters are cardboard. Whoever said the title character lived up to his promise is wrong. He's cruel and unworthy of the heroine. I also didn't like the rape scene mentioned before. This book, and the one before it, are proof that some people will read anything--and be impressed with it.

    Book 2 is Purrrrrrfect!

After having my appitite wet with Rejar in Knight of a Trillion Stars this was a book I did not hesitate to buy. I was NOT dissapointed either. Though Lilac is a sweet natured woman she is also a little spitfire who doesn't want anything to do with a certian high-and-mighty Prince. She much prefers a beautiful Black cat 'Rejar' curled up with her that she can tell what she really thinks of the Prince. Rejar is patient and yet knows Lilac is for him regaurdless of her. Wonderful story concept. We also again get to see Theardar whom helps Rejar in this book. Great book - a most read for anyone who loves futuristic type books ... and cats.

    A BRILLIANT BOOK

This book is one of the best cross over books I have ever read topped only by Mine To Take imo. Dara Joy is a very gifted writer bringing us along on this intricate, well-crafted adventure series which is loaded with subtleties. Rejar is a very complex character. LIke a true cat, he is aragant one minute, playful the next, and surprisingly tender hearted. The character more than lives up to every potential promised. I have rarely seen a hero jump off the pages like this one, which probably explains why he is so popular a character and has inspired so many fantasies-I know I've had a few! Lillac, a sheltered regency miss reacts to him in a beleivable way and I found the scenes between them breathtaking. I've noticed when reading this author that she does not play to stereotypes of any kind and it is difficult to guess where she takes the series from one moment tothe next. Her heroines are often more than they seem, showing different facets of strength when confronted with different situations. I like that.

    A disappointment

Rejar from Knight of a Trillion Stars goes to Regency England. In the previous book, he was fun. In this, his own book, he becomes as arrogant and repulsive as his brother, Lorgin. The heroine in this book, Lilac, has several more watts of brainpower than Deanna, for all the good it does her. Lilac is still more of a dim bulb than even the average romance heroine. It's still okay to Dara Joy to humiliate and degradate her heroines. Dara Joy heroes always treat the heroine like a dog on a leash, dragging her here and there, telling her what to do: 'Stand up, sit down, good girl.' Dara Joy heroes also have a bad habit of constantly telling a heroine that he just knows she lusts after him. He knows all, even if he's an alien visitor to earth, and the heroine knows absolutely nothing, not even her own mind. Protest any of this arrogance? How dare the woman do that? What little protests arise from the females don't last long and can easily be conquered with a leer or a sneer. If that's not bad enough, this author thinks we're supposed to find it romantic when Rejar rapes Lilac, but it's not. It's not enough for a hero in a romance book to be beautiful, physically...um...fit, and sexually obsessed. If he cannot prove he's caring and loving, at least with the heroine, he's not worth the paper he's written on. Rejar had so many possibilities that he never gets a chance to live up to--and that is a tragedy.

Sweetly Passionate, Seductive and Absoultely Purrrfect

Dara Joy knows how to capture the readers attention and keep a hold of it in Rejar. the passion and wickedness of the Famliar race makes every woman wish these peoples really did exist. I love this and all of her novels i do recommended this and all of her novels there not drawnout or boring but humorous and cute. Meeeeeoooooow :o)

    ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!

I could not put this book down. I have read it at least 3 times and will read it several more times, I'm sure. I have also read Knight of a Trillion Stars and Mine to Take. I recommend all of these books to everyone and anyone who loves romance and adventure. Also, if anyone knows when there will be a book out on Traid, PLEASE, let me know, I'm sure I will immediately go out and buy it also.

    Great Book

I must say first that I normally do not favor science fiction but then again I can not put this book in that department. Let me say that once you read one of Dara's books of the Familiar series then you will be HOOKED. I could not wait to get my hands on the next one. Now my problem is she will have to write some more. They are full of good sex and a great sense of humor can be found just around the corner.
