Rekindle:
verb; to revive something that has been lost

Loss and change are two things that Emma Grace is intimately familiar with. She knows better than anyone that sometimes, life happens. It happens often, and never in the way she expects. When she and her best friend, Cam make the move back to her childhood hometown in Alabama, life decides to happen again.

Rhett McCoy never forgot Emma Grace. Hell, every memory from his childhood included her. But that's what she was now. A memory. At least, that's what he thought until he finds himself standing in front of a very real Emma Grace.

Meet the Author

We started out as strangers.

Two people in two different states, who shared a love of books.

Through group interactions and various messages, we talked for months.

Eventually, talks of our favorite fictional characters turned into talks of real life events.

As wives and mothers, we shared stories about our husbands and children. We’ve shared laughter, tears, and the deep frustration of fictional characters talking to us at the most inopportune times.

Over the years, our relationship has changed from strangers to best friends, and our love of reading has turned into a love of writing. Reading is what brought us together. The written word will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we’re ecstatic to be able to share our words with you.

I am so excited to review this heartwarming novel by writers Morgan Nicole because without a doubt, it has become one of my favorites this year! The two main characters are Emma, who has lived through the foster system and carries the weight inside of a constant fear that she will never be fully loved or have true faith in someone else; and Rhett, the boy who knew her when she was growing up, respected and treated her like gold when the other kids hurt her feelings so badly. Then their friendship was torn apart when Emma was adopted and she moved away from Atlanta to Chicago. The thing is, neither one of them ever could forget the other even after 15 years when Emma has the oppertunity to take a job teaching back in her old hometown. Would Rhett still be living in Atlanta? she wonderd in the back of her mind, her heart still remembering their holding hands, laughing, crying and long talks in her backyard treehouse all those years ago. Discovering Rhett as such a strong, defined character of a man, I said, "Good grief, he's the perfect guy!" And a fireman, too! (Isn't that a plus, ladies?) He knows what he wants and when he finds Emma back in his town, he explodes with excitement, desire and, although he tries to be patient, the passion is so strong you can feel it through the author's excellent description of his feelings for her. But can Emma somehow overcome her constant feelings of anxiety, and fear of rejection and allow Rhett in? This novel was very well written. I felt drawn in to Rhett and Emma's lives from the very beginning until the last page...and I didn't want it to end!! I noticed two or three small wording errors but overall that was quickly forgotten as I was page-turning deep into the night as there was not only the romance, but life-threatening drama, mystery and secondary plots taking place that really kept my attention. Bravo! Attention readers! Don't pass this one up! You'll be so glad you opened that first page of "Rekindle". m. cunningham in wv
