Overview

Kate Logan is unaware of her genetic imprint. All her life, she's suppressed the dark longings that haunt her. Twenty-first-century women should not want alpha males to protect or dominate them.

Michael Kyle immediately recognizes Kate as his mate. He can send violent sexual visions to her but she doesn't seem to understand what that means. She's unaware and untrained.

He's ready to show Kate that pain can liberate her pleasure. But first, he has to break through her resistance. She thinks her needs are wrong and fears her craving to submit to the sexual demands of this dominant man. Michael has to be patient-gradually increase her sexual pain to free her sexual pleasure and acceptance of her submissive heritage. If he rushes the process, or if he can't break through her barriers, she won't survive their mating.

I have no problems with d/s and the places they go but this book was on a totally different playing field. Michael feels that he has found his mate and total submission is required; however it reads, to me, as a forced submission and brainwashing the submissee to like the pain. I did not care for the premise of the clan either. Whereas mate seems to connotate one and only in the clan all share in the sexual depravities, what's the point of a mate? So not a romance, not erotic, what is left is? For you to decide

I absolutely LOVED this story. It was incredibly erotic  I wish I had my own Michael. I loved the mind games.

Couldn't get into it. Skipped over details that would have made the storyline better. Has some hardcore scenes that aren't for the faint of heart, bordering on pressured consent.

I agree w/ both june 2013 reviews and 23 july 2012 review. Re:  25 June and it left too many questions unanswered, needs more clarification. Re:  28 June, so true. Re 23 July 2012. Ditto! Lot of sexual intimacy/not a prude but too much borderline for me

Had no real plot. Its underdeveloped and more brutal than hot. Even the mental link wasnt really understandable. Not worth it, needs rewritten in alot of areas to include explanations of the clan, link, mate, etc. 137 pgs

Almost felt like the story wasn't complete.

The author talks about the "clan," yet never really expains it. The intimacy is hot. Not a prude by any means, yet this book expresses sexual harassment along with border line rape.
