Heino Erichsen's biography, written with his wife Jean, is so interesting, exciting, and serious - WWII, but he injected humor and ingenuity into his stories so that I found myself laughing with him, and then almost crying, when I turned the page. Anyone interested in USA, Europe, history and WWII will enjoy this unbelievable, and true story. Then he and Jean went on to adopt and birth more children, and also formed an adoption agency to help others adopt internationally. They have a great mission in their lives.pmd
A thoughtful and emotional insight into the everyday lives of a typical German family before, during and after WWII. There is a lot here that isn't covered in our history lessons. This is the true story of Heino Ericksen and the hardships of this time in history. There is even the story of how he started to help people through international adoption and other humanitarian programs.
