About the Author

John was born and raised in Bradford in England, and is the brother of the renowned painter, David Hockney. He emigrated to Australia in 1964.

John is a professional storyteller and writer and works with school children to help them unleash their creativity, and with seniors to help them draw out their life stories. With the right props and trigger questions he has even elicited remarkable responses from people who were thought to have lost their capacity to speak or communicate with their carers.

He has performed at the numerous National Storytelling Festivals as well as at schools in Australia, the USA and UK, and has presented Storytelling workshops in Australia and to multicultural audiences in Singapore and Bangkok.
