Remembering Virginia's Confederates (Images of America Series)

For anyone interested in Virginia's Civil War history, this book tells that story through period images gathered from major institutions and private family collections. The people and places depicted have been carefully researched, making this a good resource for historians as well as a good read. Author-historian Sean M. Heuvel has written a cogent overview of Virginia's participation in the war and structured the book as a gallery of images and personal histories. The foreword by Col. J.E.B. Stuart IV, U.S. Army (Retired)adds yet another perspective on Virginia's Civil War generation.
