I don't own this CD, but my grandma has it and I was able to listen to it with her. I really enjoyed it. John McDermott has much real emotion in his voice that makes these songs powerful. I have only one complaint about this CD, and that is that in two or three of these songs there was some language (only to be expected, I suppose, considering the type these songs are). But I felt that the good overruled the bad. ''Lili Marlene'' is a stunning gem indeed. The songs about waltzing matilda and Christmas Eve on the battlefield were enough to make me cry and gave me an entirely new outlook on life. I know you will enjoy this CD.
