Remembrance Of The Pastby Lory Lilian
In Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet unexpectedly met Mr. Darcy while visiting Pemberley. In this 'what if' story, Elizabeth Bennet and her relatives - Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner - are in London, ready to start their tour to the Lakes in June. During this time, Elizabeth's path crosses with Mr. Darcy's again. However, Mr. Darcy is not alone in London: besides his close family - Georgiana and Colonel Fitzwilliam - an old and dear friend has returned and claimed a well-deserved place in their lives. This is a story about hopes and desires, about losses and fears, about second chances and happiness.

This novel started off great! Good characters...really liked Lady Cassandra's character introduction....good story line as well...kept you reading...however, I was disappointed more than half-way through the book when the author took a perfectly good novel and then seemed to have to add the explicit love making scenes....I know, to some its fine and it does not bother them ~ in fact, many read these types of books for that reason, but I do not, and I try to preview books first to make sure I am not buying into one with explicit love scenes. Sweet, yes, if you like to read that type of material, I do not!...but, that said, I did enjoy the book's story. The author I listed below has wonderful imaginatiion and stories that are just as exciting without the sex scenes!
Austen's genuis is unique, and I think I can safely say that none of the enthusiasts of her work try to emulate her unmatchable style. That is one of the things I love about Lory Lillian's novels. She brings her own twists and turns to my favorite novel, taking the story in new directions and keeping and expanding on the most beloved characters from the work. There are several authors whose Austen variations I greatly admire and highly recommend, but there are none that give me the pleasure that I get from Lilian's variations. I hope she will continue writing for a long time to come.
Remembrance of the Past is the story of what happens if after Elizabeth refuses Darcy's proposal and she and her Aunt and Uncle were going to travel, what would happen if they did not have the chance to leave London when planned and they met up with Darcy, Georgianna, and their cousin. Also, introduced to the story is a Lady who cause Elizabeth to feel jealousy as she thinks that she has lost Darcy. Also what happens when the dark and scary Lord Markham takes a keen interest in Elizabeth. Follow the Darcy and Elizabeth as they realize their love, finally understand each other, and how outside influences make them stop to realize that when a lifetime love comes around you have to hold on with everything you have before it slips away. Loved this story from start to finish. Humorous, touching, romantic and a must have for any P&P lover.
