Remnants of Strawberry Blondeby Deborah Miller
- LendMe LendMe™ Learn More
How do we learn one of life's most important lessons, to live with gratitude? In Remnants of Strawberry Blonde, author Deborah Miller shows us through her use of poetic illustrations. Childhood memories, adult friendships, and parental influences are cleverly disguised in ways that make us read between the lines and rediscover our own stories. In finding avenues to be generous with our own lives, Remnants of Strawberry Blonde reminds us of where we've been and where we need to go.
Remnants of Strawberry Blonde speaks to the unbreakable bonds of love between friends, parents and children, and grandchildren. Rediscover your own path to a life filled with gratitude as you explore stories of love, life, and faith in this collection. For "somewhere, where angels fly and child's life is just starting, there's a little bit of heaven in a grandma's flower garden."
"'Today I celebrate the joy of life,' proclaims Deborah Miller in 'The Wish.' And celebrate she does, beginning with childhood days when she and her closest friend filled hours with typical activities and ones of their own invention. Moving through ordinary and extraordinary moments, she doesn't shy away from grief or fear.
'I see biscuits and butter as I walk through the door.' Captured by the scene's warmth, we yearn to walk through that door with her. Beneath portraits and memories is faith, which came through her experiences and relationships. This is an anthem of gratitude for all the goodness the poet has known.

I don't usually like poetry, but this book speaks to the heart. I laughed, cried, and reminisced while reading these poems. A must have!!! I have bought copies for my friends for Christmas and they all loved it. Looking forward to her next book of poetry.
