Overview

Remodelista: The A-Z Guide to Remodeling Your Home is a quick and useful guide to remodeling basics, excerpted from Remodelista.

Remodelista.com is the go-to, undisputed authority for home design enthusiasts, remodelers, architects, and designers. Unlike sites that cater to all tastes, Remodelista has a singular and clearly defined aesthetic: classic pieces trump designs that are trendy and transient, and well-edited spaces take precedence over cluttered environments. High and low mix seamlessly here, and getting the look need not be expensive (think Design Within Reach meets Ikea). Remodelista decodes the secrets to achieving this aesthetic, with in-depth tours and lessons from 12 enviable homes; a recipe-like breakdown of the hardest-working kitchens and baths; dozens of do-it-yourself projects; “The Remodelista 100,” a guide to the best everyday household objects; and an in-depth look at the ins and outs of the remodeling process. In a world of design confusion, Remodelista takes the guesswork out of the process.

OK, the "book" is not 250 pages as stated, its 24. I'm wondering if for Free Friday we got a sample vs the whole book? It looks like it's the first day it's listed on here, maybe a bug? If not, not worth your time if you have access to the internet and know how to search for anything.

This is information anyone can get on the internet. This 24 page pamphlet is NOT what is advertised in the product description. Is this bait and switch or just incompetence? Actually the fact that it is free has nothing to do with anything. If the product description were honest, then people would know. As it is, they feel ripped-off and insulted. Bad form B&N - and how you handle this will certainly determine how much you actually care about your Nook family of customers.

On Amazon you can get the whole 400 page ebook for 2 bucks. I'm giving 5 stars here because the author shouldn't suffer for Barnes & Nobles Mistake. Over there all 12 reviews were 5 stars.

    A Preview

Get a grip, people! Evidently this is a preview of Carlson's full book, which will be released on Nov. 5. BN certainly made a mistake in offering a 24-page preview as a Free Friday selection (come on, BN, that's low), but the author should not suffer low ratings because of it. If you want the preview so as to sample the book (or because you collect Free Friday offerings), get it while knowing what you're not getting (a full book). But save the complaints for Nook's customer service line. Don't hurt the author's sales here.

Five stars to offset the unfair reviews.

    WHAT A JOKE!

I cant believe nook is doing this for free Friday! Just 24 pages! Just once it would be nice to get a free friday book that would be from an author, ie, James Patterson, Rice, Christie, O'reilly or any number of really best selling authors!,

    Bad Form, Publisher

According to the blog, this 24 page excerpt is what the PUBLISHER intended as the Free Friday book. BN is changing the blog description to say this. I am giving one star because of the publisher.

People, if you're unhappy with B&N, this isn't the forum. People reading the review ratings want to know if the book is any good. Although in this case you have a good gripe.
I liberally gave it 2 stars because the content looks good, but otherwise it's obviously too short.

Anyway, why gripe here about something you get for free?? then again, I wonder if the same people who scour these free books every week would also have the budget and space in their home for suggestions like, "if you entertain frequently, it's a good idea to have 2 dishwashers" Really?

    Not a book at all

This is really not a book, and has nothing to do with how to actually do anything. It tells you some things to keep in mind and that's it. A waste pf space in my opinion.

    Not impressed

A very basic booklet which is #2 in a series. The writing is basic. I would give this 3 or 4 stars if there were pictures within the booklet itself. Reads like a book report made by a middle grade student.

Even if this was free everyday-- and not just today-- my rating and comment would remain the same.
