Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
With its predictable resolution, obvious villain and a hero and heroine who are strikingly similar to those in the author's most recent contemporary romance ( Sweet Fortune, written as Jayne Ann Krentz), this Regency falls short in both originality and intrigue. The scholarly Harry Fleming, earl of Graystone, prizes loyalty above all else. A former spy, he is haunted by his failure to nab a traitor known as the Spider. Furthermore, his wife was ``a lying, deceitful, falsehearted bitch.'' Now a widower, Harry's in the market for a second wife. He has selected as his bride Augusta Ballinger, a reckless but steadfastly loyal woman, and knowing she will balk, he persuades her guardian to present the engagement to her as a fait accompli. Despite her attraction to Henry, Augusta is indeed convinced that a free spirit doesn't belong with a stick-in-the-mud scholar. But the marriage proceeds, and as Harry tries to fashion a proper wife out of Augusta, he begins to believe that a document linked to the suspicious death of her brother two years earlier may offer a clue to the identity of the elusive Spider. A Fun Read

This book was a fun read with a cute and fun couple. To say the heroine is headstrong would be and understatement and the hero definately has his hands full trying to keep her in line and protect her from her own schemes. She did get a little irritating when she wouldnt stop bringing up her family's famous personality traits, and using them as an excuse for her every thought and action. Even with that I didnt want to put it down and finished it very quickly!

    Loved It

Graystone is one my favorite characters. Augusta's devotion to her brother Richard is admirable. I could not put the book down.

    Wonderful!

Amanda Quick works magic in her book! As many people have noticed reading them. Rendezvous is another one of her great hits. Augusta gets married to the Earl of Graystone, Harry. She is an adventurous female and one of her kind. Harry has a need to protect her as she gets out on a quest to know who killed her brother. This one will make you want more! I reccomend it!
