Full of madcap hi-jinks, EXPLOSIONS, and adventures galore! This was yet again an all around fun story continuing to keep me happily entertained. So many characters all telling their story blended into a wonderful romp with lots of action and humor.
New loves found, old loves rekindled, hearts still healing over Books (sniffle, I miss that guy, too) and all while trying to combat an insane amount of danger from a variety of sources, including a sentient giant plant! And everyone trying not to annoy Sicarius. Except Amaranthe, of course. New characters introduced, old ones getting more fleshed out (though not figuratively enough for Maldynado's liking), and my all time favorite thing, a HAPPY ending FULL of promise for more.
Thanks Lindsay, this was the perfect Easter gift! I could have devoured it Sunday as soon as I received it, but chose to savor it and prolong what I knew would be a sweet agony upon finishing.
Oh NO! Now what am I going to do while waiting for the (better happen sooner rather than later) next book?!?

Just when I thought it was over...
How many times do we wish there was still more when a series ends...we sit with a book hangover, hoping for a glimpse of the characters we've come to love. Well that is exactly what Lindsay Buroker did with Republic and I have say, I was thrilled! Buroker proves this fabulous continuation to what happens after Forged in Blood I & II. I was amazed with the character growth and the changes that are taking place. We are not only given a continuation of the story but also further plot possibilities of more to come.
It is no secret, I'm a Buroker fan. I was captivated from page 1 till till the end. I highly recommend you jump into this fresh, funny, exciting world Amaranthe Lokdon and her friends.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! It took me a while to start, but once I opened the first page, I didn't want to put it down. Buroker did a great job of bringing back familiar characters, but in new situations and plot developments. She also introduced new characters and 'grew' some of the old ones. Great installment of the series! I look forward to the next one!

Lindsay has delivered another excellent story with old friends and some new ones along the way. Like others, I will be waiting for the next installment. I may have to start lurking on your blog to get snippets to keep me going between installments. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I loved this book. Lindsay is a gifted writer. Great adventure with old and a few new characters. I could not read fast enough. 4am I finished the book. I have never stayed up that late to read . Lindsay never disappoints. I can not wait til the next story comes out. Every series is full of adventure. Five ***** for all her books

Lindsay has done it again. I couldn't put Republic down once I started reading. It was nice to see what all the characters from the Emperor's Edge series were up to. A perfect continuation of the Emperor's Edge series.
I heartily recommend reading the whole series.

Fighting the shakes and tremors long enough to write this review...because having finished this I fear withdrawal symptoms are coming on again.
I'll just say now to get it out of the way - I love this series and Buroker is hands down my favorite author.
I loved this story, Buroker is always well done and this was no exception.
The first few pages were a little confusing with so many points of view and I was a little worried that Buroker had taken on too much. But true to her style, the adventure, humor, genius end heart took hold really early and carried all the way through.
The characters, while being themselves, grew and matured in such realistic fashion. Their cares and concerns were logical and not a plot twist just for the sake of plot twists (like so many authors employ to the ruination of so many series making them soap operas - and one of the primary reasons I hate series books).
Buroker - Thank you for being true to the characters that we love.
All that said, I think the adventure and the gang here was reminiscent of the first few adventures in the series, even if some characters were missed. (But I am sure will turn up again or will mostly turn up again.)
The chemistry was still there and the "new" gang gelled (sp?) well together.
I am looking forward to the next, despite the withdrawal symptoms.
Buroker - thank you and I hope another isn't too far off.
