Verdi's Requiem Mass is truly a masterfull work. The exciting and fear-inducing 'Dies Irae,' a theme which recurs throughout the piece, is a wonderful counterpoint to the wholly inaudible 'Requiem [Aeternam]' which opens the piece. The 'Tuba mirum' is any trumpet players dream, and the 'Sanctus' and 'Libera Me' sections are to die for. Look for a recording by the CSO, if you can find one.Was this review helpful?
