Requirements Development Guidebook

The Requirements Development Guidebook lays out a comprehensive framework for software requirements development.

This framework will help business analysts of all levels deliver complete requirements free of gaps, missed details, or inconsistencies. It does so while at the same time helping business analysts organize their thoughts and address requirements in a meaningful order, so that the teams that utilize the requirements can begin their work faster and progress more efficiently.

The book presents a “roadmap” organized around distinct “stations.” Each station relates to a particular objective and includes requirements elicitation techniques, lists of questions, the most useful analysis tools that can be applied to the elicited requirements, and the output expected from that station.

The book is supported by a case study in which the use of the roadmap is demonstrated. A chapter at the end of the book is dedicated to explaining the analysis tools used in the book. Tools are linked to the analysis angle to which they are best suited and their use is demonstrated through examples.
