    Don't read this book unless . . .

Warning: Don’t read this book unless you’re willing to seriously consider the Biblical evidence and possibly come to a different conclusion than your traditional roots have taken. This book contains a series of eight individual studies examining Biblical evidence in light of conservative hermeneutics (Bible study methods ). When I first read the material I confess that I was very unnerved and even antagonistic; the conclusions were in conflict to what I had been taught in traditional, evangelical church and Bible college. The second time through I was able to be more objective and take the Berean approach (Acts 17:11 – search the Scriptures for verification). I wonder if your understanding of this issue will be revised on the basis of this honest presentation of Scriptural evidence. The book contains significant Scriptural evidence in each study (the most convincing to me were the studies from Genesis 2 and Matthew 10). The book handles a controversial subject with both academic scholarship and reverence for the character of God. The writing style is readable (i.e. doesn’t require a degree in theology), but because of the implications, probably should be read and digested one study at a time. I personally have a greater passion and compassion for the destiny of the unsaved after reading this book. The worst thing is not to die without Christ and suffer eternal torment; the worst thing is to miss fellowship with our Creator and worship and serve Him throughout eternity.
