Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 36—The Galactic Security Agency's most fearless (and sometimes defiant) operative, Missile Mouse, is the classic "plays by his own rules" protagonist. After discovering a mysterious mind-control device, the GSA sends him, along with a robot partner, on a mission to get to the bottom of things. They soon discover that King Bognarsh is enslaving an entire society on a remote planet. Missile Mouse and his bot set out to free the slaves, but Bognarsh has other ideas, sending henchman Blazing Bat to interfere. The crisp, vivid illustrations combine with a clear layout to create a graphic novel that works for veterans of the genre as well as newcomers. Enthusiastic readers will appreciate a section in the back of the book that features detailed diagrams of the characters, structures, vehicles, and gadgets of the Missile Mouse universe. While the story touches on some familiar tropes, the execution is impressive—brisk and entertaining. Hand Missile Mouse to a "Star Wars" fan and watch the word-of-mouth machine start chugging. Students will soon be lining up for this one.—Travis Jonker, Dorr Elementary School, MI
