Meet the Author
Janine C. Edwards, PhD, is Associate Professor and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs of the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University. Her interests have focused on admission to medical school and clinical education, especially resident teaching skills.
Joan A. Friedland, MD, MPH, is Associate Professor of Medicine of the Department of Medicine and Associate Professor of the Center for Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine. She is Associate Chief of the Medical service at the Houston VA Medical Center. Dr. Friedland is the Director of the Baylor Department of Medicine Residents' Teaching Skills Workshop series, which she developed with her colleagues, and Chair of the Baylor College of Medicine Committee for Educator Development. She has had a long association with the AAMC Regional and National Groups on Education Affairs (GEA). Currently she is the National Chair of the GEA Section on Graduate Medical Education, and she serves on the Steering Committee of the AAMC Group on Resident Affairs and the AAMC GME Core Curriculum Working Group.
Robert Bing-You, MD, Med, FACP, is the Associate Vice President for Medical Education at Maine Medical Center and is a practicing endocrinologist. He graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1986 and completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology training at Maine Medical Center. Dr. Bing-You completed a master's degree in education in 1995. His medical education research interests are in improving feedback and changing physician behaviors.
