Veredelt wurde dieser Ansatz durch die Diskussion um die so genannten Kernkompetenzen des Unternehmens (competence-based view). Das Ziel dieser Arbeit besteht darin, auf Grundlage der Darstellung des resource-based view, die Hauptaufgaben und Entwicklungstendenzen des weiterführenden Kompetenzmanagements dar-zulegen, abzugrenzen und zu vergleichen. In der vorliegenden Seminararbeit wird im zweiten Kapitel die theoretische Grundposition des resource-based view dargestellt. Dabei werden erstens die Grundannahmen des resource-based view, zweitens die Entwicklung des competence-based view aus dem resource-based view und drittens die Einordnung des competence-based view in die strategische Analyse dargestellt.
Im dritten Kapitel werden die Aufgaben des competence-based view beschrieben. Es findet dabei eine Abgrenzung zwischen Entwicklung, Nutzung, Outsourcen bzw. Abbau und Transfer der Kompetenzen statt.
Das vierte Kapitel stellt eine Verbindung des Kompetenzmanagements mit anderen Ansätzen, im Wesentlichen mit dem industrieökonomischen Ansatz, her.
Mit dem letzten Kapitel werden die Kernaussagen der Seminararbeit zusammengefasst sowie ein Fazit gezogen.
