Editorial Reviews

Tamara Ward
Rest for the Wicked takes you on a journey. With characters that will pull you in and tons of action, you won't be able to put the book down. This read is intense. I can't wait to see what happens next in the lives of the characters.

Note: This novel has adult contact with graphic, violent action scenes. This ain't no Harry Potter, as we might say in the South.
Shieka Doctor
The author does a good job of showing how much strength one can have when it comes to defending themselves and their friends. I felt Claire's pain and her resolve to become stronger and that's a testament to Cate Dean's amazing writing style.

The characters were well developed and felt like such real people. The author's writing style left me wanting more. I was so enthralled with this book I finished it in a day. I could not put it down. I can't wait to read more by Cate Dean.
Rhonda Hopkins
This was a great story with wonderful characters that you care about. It was fast paced and well developed. The descriptions made it seem as if a movie was playing in my mind. While Claire's story is left hanging, it does have an ending. One I could live with. However, thankfully I won't have to as this is only book 1 of Claire's story. Definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
Theresa Mae
The characters of this book really jump off the page and suck you into the story line. Marcus is a hunk, and Eric, well, I want one! Seriously, Cate, write me an Eric, please!

I can't wait for part two to come out! I'll be the first to snatch it up. Can't wait to read more about Claire and her journey, as well as her friends who I've grown to adore!

Meet the Author

Cate Dean has been writing since she could hold a pen in her hand and put more than two words together on paper. She grew up losing herself in the wilds of fantasy worlds, and has had some of her own adventures while tromping through the UK, and a few other parts of the world. A lover of all things supernatural, she infuses that love into her stories, giving them a unique edge. When she's not writing, she loves cooking, scaring herself silly in the local cemeteries, and reading pretty much anything she can get her hands on.

    Wow!

Wow! Like with Dean's other book When Walls Can Talk, her writing captivated me from the very beginning and held me through to the end. I loved the unexpected twist (but won't spoil it for you!) and am eagerly looking forward to Book 2. Claire Wiche is a well written conflicted character I can't wait to discover more about, as well as the wonderful secondary characters--especially Marcus!

I really enjoyed the book, however I think they could all be combined into one book. I think 3.99 is a lot to ask for 150 pages. Not sure I am willing to pay that for such a short book.

    Not captivating

After having read 25 out of the 112 page book; I felt that this is not holding my attention. The plot seems convoluted not captivating enough to make me wanna read on.

Witches & demons. Was a bit interesting but just not interesting enough for me to read the rest of the series. Not saying it was bad because it was a good read, I just couldn't really get into it that much.

    Another good free book!

For a free book this one is definitely not bad. The characters are engaging, the story line flows-sometimes with a little chop, but nothing too horribly distracting, and best of all, in my opinion, I only saw ONE typo in the whole book which tells me that someone cared about the integrity of the finished product! Now to see if any of the rest of the books in the series are available through the library... but if not they are already in my nook wish list!

    Bookworm

I found this book interesting, especially Claire's practice of her craft and the odd collection of characters that wander into her life. It was reasonably well written but could have used a lot more character development. I assume (hope) that is picked up in the sequels. The main flaw IMO, is that her secret past is totally unbelievable. Even so, I liked the book well enough to want to read the next one in the series.
