Meet the Author

Cate Dean has been writing since she could hold a pen in her hand and put more than two words together on paper. She grew up losing herself in the wilds of fantasy worlds, and has had some of her own adventures while tromping through the UK, and a few other parts of the world. A lover of all things supernatural, she infuses that love into her stories, giving them a unique edge. When she's not writing, she loves cooking, scaring herself silly in the local cemeteries, and reading pretty much anything she can get her hands on.

There are those rare books you come across that make you want to do a little dance because you know from the first few pages they are going to be amazing. From page one, I knew this would be a book I loved and I couldn't put it down. Those that love paranormal fantasy will love this book!

I really enjoyed the book, however I think they could all be combined into one book. I think 3.99 is a lot to ask for 150 pages. Not sure I am willing to pay that for such a short book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal /Witchy book. I recognized so many details that the story flowed beautifully. Loved that no errant detail or poorly written dialogue jarred me from the story. Can't wait to read the next!

Story concept was great however the reluctance of the main character to give out background information made for a disconnect with the reader. I realize that this is the first of a series and as such will feel a little disjointed. I liked the story just not enough to want to read the next book in the series.

After having read 25 out of the 112 page book; I felt that this is not holding my attention. The plot seems convoluted not captivating enough to make me wanna read on.

3.5 stars worth reading... Total Pages: 306; Story Pages: 301; free e-book Witches & demons. Was a bit interesting but just not interesting enough for me to read the rest of the series. Not saying it was bad because it was a good read, I just couldn't really get into it that much.

I found this book interesting, especially Claire's practice of her craft and the odd collection of characters that wander into her life. It was reasonably well written but could have used a lot more character development. I assume (hope) that is picked up in the sequels. The main flaw IMO, is that her secret past is totally unbelievable. Even so, I liked the book well enough to want to read the next one in the series.

Love the unusual storyline

Wow! Like with Dean's other book When Walls Can Talk, her writing captivated me from the very beginning and held me through to the end. I loved the unexpected twist (but won't spoil it for you!) and am eagerly looking forward to Book 2. Claire Wiche is a well written conflicted character I can't wait to discover more about, as well as the wonderful secondary characters--especially Marcus!
