It took a long, long time for Limp Bizkit to get their follow-up to Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water into the stores. First, guitarist Wes Borland, generally regarded as the band's musical force, up and left the band, and it took a long, long time to find a replacement guitarist. After a national talent search performed at Guitar Center stores, where candidates had to sign contracts that gave up their rights to anything original they played at their audition, Limp Bizkit settled on former Snot guitarist Mike Smith and recorded an album. Then scrapped it. Then they recorded another album. Then scrapped it. They were going through album titles, too -- it was called Bipolar and then, charmingly, Panty Sniffer. Finally, all the sessions and the turmoil were whittled down into one very long album called Results May Vary. Without Borland on the album, Limp Bizkit turns to frontman Fred Durst, who already dominated the band's personality and now must provide direction in addition to bravado. Durst doesn't come up with any new musical ideas, apart from slight hints of Staind and emo on the ballads, and he generally runs amuck, spewing bile at targets including Britney Spears, ranting about how she broke his heart. He complains about being picked on in high school and about radio and MTV playing the same old bands, and invokes icons like Kurt Cobain. Results May Vary would have been improved if the music had a fraction of Durst's anger (no matter how misguided it is) or had energy to match the clown jumping up and down and screaming in front. [Results May Vary was also released in a clean version, containing scrambled profanities.]

Limp Bizkit Seems to have lost their balls. I dont know if Freds getting old or maybe Brittney really affected him, but he needs to get back to the aggressive stuff. This album is full of soft melancholic self loving songs with frequent clean/acoustic guitar riffs. THe songs start out hard then get really weak.

lb is the coolest.... or used to be. they still have some good tracks, like eat you alive, gimme the mic and creamer, but most of the album just lacks the good hard stuff that lb used to be so good at. songs like underneath the gun,build a bridge, down another day, and behind blue eyes are all worthless pieces of ****. however there is one really awesome song and thats let me down. so this cd is ok, but youll find yourself skipping a lot of tracks.

THE WHO IS THE GREATEST BAND EVER!!! DO NONE OF YOU KNOW THAT THE WHO WROTE BEHING BLUE EYES!!! YOU CANNOT COVER SOMETHING LIKE THAT SONG, ESPECIALLY IF YOU SUCK! I MEAN COME ON, WHAT CORPORATE, MONEY-DRIVEN BUT HOLE (the website wouldn't let me post any "inappropriate language" GAVE A BAND LIKE LIMP BIZKIT PERMISSION TO REMAKE, AND DESTROY THE WHO? AHHH! sorry, just to hear that song makes me angry. Though I don't understand how anyone could POSSIBLY like it after hearing the original version, but I respect those of you who do, well not really but I respect your opinion. KEITH MOON LIVES!!!

About two albums ago, I liked Limp Bizkit. Since then, things have gone way down hill, and they seem to have completely lost it on this one. This album constantly switches between hard and soft, and isn't worth the money if you can only stomach one or the other.

this cd is great, better that chocolate starfish. I dont own any of their other cds like Three Dollar Bill but heard that it was a good cd also. I couldnt find a bad track on this album. I guess it all depends on whether you like that style of music, and I happen to love it.

This is easily one if not my favorite Limp Bizkit albums rivaled only by "3 dollar bill yall". The best part about this album is Fred Durst lost that thing he does with his voice. You know he did it all the time in "Chocolate Starfish and Hotdog Flavored Water". You know on MAD tv when he was portrayed by Will Sasso and they made fun of him for it. Thats what I didn't like about that album. He lost that and kept his tenacity. In "Significant Other" some of the ryhmes were stupid. When they start saying cookie something is wrong. Plus in both albums Durst sounded like a rap artist and the rest of the band his backup band but not in this album. If all these problems were solved by Wes Borland leaving then I say good ridance. The only problem I have with this album is it steadily changes between hard and soft. I hope they make their minds.

fred durst isn't worthy to roll around in pete townshend's trash can, much less re-do one of his greatest songs! the who=gods of rock. limp bizkit=lowly termites. everything about that cover is sick and wrong. sure, i'll give bizkit credit for not butchering "behind blue eyes" any further with one of fred's god aweful raps stuck in the middle, but never the less it was an extemely inadequate cover. thinking about it gives me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach >.< save your money and buy "who's next" by the who instead...now THAT is what rock is all about. enjoy ;D

Limp Bizkit has definately changed there style with this one, but listeners should give this cd a chance and not only judge the album according to the song "behind blue eyes". Some songs are a little to mellow for the album and dont exactly belong for example underneath the gun, almost over, down another day, and build a bridge. Pretty good songs but dont go with the flow of the rest of the album. It takes a few listens but you will learn to like this new style of limp bizkit.

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews of this album. Sure it is a different style and sure they didn't have Wes but this is a good solid rock album. It's a shame that because of all the critisism from this album Limp was forced into trying to go back to their "original sound" with the unquestionable truth volume 1 which is not a good album. They should have stuck with the new direction that this album was leading them and just left Wes out. Now where are they?? I can't say that this album is better than Limp's first 3 because it's so different but it is just as good.

this cd is just differnt from their other releases sure its soft sure its mellow wes borland was not on this album what so ever!!!!!! but they brought in a new guitar player named mike smith to replace wes borland but mike smith departed from limp bizkit in 2004 wes came back to limp bizkit in 2004 but wes left the band yet again in 2006 to work on other projects now wes is now in marilyn mansons band and terry balsamo from evanescence is now the new guitar player for limp bizkit
