Sample From The Book:

The Cover Letter
Your Sneak Preview Movie Trailer
So there it is, your entire life up to this point summed up onto one little page A4 sized page, that‟s all the shot you got, fail to knock their socks off and they‟ll just move on to the next cover letter on the pile.
It‟s true how little regard recruiters and employers give the stacks of resumes they receive on a daily basis. It gets to the point where every piece of paper begins to look like the rest, but not yours, you‟re going to stand out from the bunch and get them to take notice, enough so that it will leave them wanting to know more.
Most people simply don‟t know how to go about this whole process and are frustrated when they are met with rejection letter after rejection letter. They don‟t realize that the difference between getting the job and losing out to the next person could be a simple as making a minor change. We‟re going to learn about some of the things that employers look for that will make your cover letter jump out and grab them by the eyeballs.

Let's start with the title; this book is primarily about cover letters not resumes. The author has the nerve to state it. Then why title it otherwise? This book was not e-reader ready. The table of contents is not typeset for the width of the screen. The commas are replaced by small rectangular boxes. The borders, that I would suspect represent the header and footers of each page, are all over the place. The "page" numbers from the “book” are also all over the place. The irony in this book is that the author tells you not to make spelling or grammatical errors, that's the worst thing you can do in your "cover letter," yet the book is laced with both. If you can get passed all of this...there were some interesting points, however, no major revelations. The information presented is mostly common knowledge. I would say that I got what I paid for...$3.50. I would not recommend.
